PROGRESSIVE LITURGISTS WILL CHASE AFTER EVERY LITURGICAL FAD, FALLING ALL OVER THEMSELVES TO BE OPEN MINDED ABOUT CLEARLY DUMB EXPERIMENTS,! BUT THERE IS NO OPEN MINDEDNESS ABOUT THEIR OWN LITURGICAL TRADITION WHEN IT COMES TO THE CELEBRATION OF THE 1962 ROMAN MISSAL!
Academic liturgists betray their shallowness when you find them flexing their open mindedness about liturgical experimentation and fawning all over it especially if it supports their ecumenical open mindedness.
How do you spell the capital sin of P-R-I-D-E?
Just read here this Praytell article noting the comments by open minded Catholic liturgists who are narrow minded when it comes to their own liturgical Tradition.

I hope I live long enough to where liturgists, of any stripe, are finally deemed unnecessary. For guidance (as opposed to someone's sometimes freakish and mostly senseless and selfish vision of inclusive divine worship), the missal, ceremonial and a sacristan's manual are all that anyone should need.
Whereas Progressive Liturgists would have wanted stick-figure fish and muffin appliques on the vestments, these newly ordained (if I am correctly remembering what's being photographed here) look like real priests and men. And for anyone who wants to give the tired retort about the lace, its a festive/celebratory occasion, get over it.
They are in fact newly consecrated bishops correctly attired (for the Novus Ordo) in chasubles and pontifical dalmatics. The one in the centre is Georg Gänswein.
If the clergy were serious about liturgy they would not depend on "liturgists" (who mostly have no idea what it is supposed to be). Fr. Z had a post lately that alluded to the fact that even with just the approved variations Mass can be offered in several million different ways. To me, this reflects an inherent intent in the minds of the original Bugnini group. They were really not concerned about Catholic worship (built on Catholic theology). Therefore, they intended new the Mass structure & content to have ecumenical acceptebility for any sect claiming to be Christian.
So, the various notions of Christology out there among the innumerable Protestants sects can be accommodated in Catholic worship only if Catholic understandings is first deconstructed, made vague, made into man-centric and less God-centric, which is what we have in the Novus Ordo today.
