BOMBSHELL!!!

"Pope Benedict has stated very clearly: changes in the church need to be made with the hermeneutic of continuity. A beautiful phrase. This hermeneutic develops: certain things change but the whole is entirely in continuity. It does not betray its own roots, it explicates them, makes them better understood."

--Pope Francis, yes! You read that correctly! Pope Francis in French book length interview!

Yeah, but what’s the starting point? The origin of continuity? IS it prior to or after Vatican 2 ?

What happened to the claim that, via the book in question, His Holiness Pope Francis declared his acceptance of homosexual civil unions?

Pax.

Cardinal Burke declared recently that the SSPX is in schism. Whether Cardinal Burke's claim in question is valid, Bishop Fellay (and the SSPX) needs our prayers as the SSPX lacks full-communion with the True Church.

Bishop Fellay, who is keen to "correct" His Holiness Pope Francis, has, since at least 1988 A.S., refused to accept the merciful correction offered to him by Holy Mother Church to secure Bishop Fellay's return to full-communion with the Church.

Pray that Bishop Fellay accepts merciful correction from God's Holy Catholic Church.

With the proper hermeneutic of that which has been entrusted to the Holy Mother Church, it is to be understood that here is a continuity, a faithful continuity and continuance of interpreting, teaching and propagating that which can ever be trusted, the Church being the repository of all that is true and holy. We have the benefit of being able to avail ourselves of Scripture and the Catechism and the writings of the saints and their Holy example, and these constitute an ever reliable guide in instructing us in what is true and worthy of belief and merits our acceptance. This great treasury and repository of teaching is a gift from God bequeathed to us as an assurance to us of all that we are to understand as being in conformance to His Holy will and ever faithful covenant with us. It is that which is there for us to keep us from straying off of the path of faithfulness to God .

You must remember, Cardinal Burke is frequently questioned with the intent to elicit information that would show him in unfavorable light proving that he belongs to some fringe element in the Church.

The concept of schism as traditionally defined (: disobedience, division, separation; also : discord, disharmony) has all but lost its theological meanings since Vatican 2. Unfortunately, the old concept nowadays seems to apply to most people in the Church, even the Pope. Recall, the Holy Father ever since his election advocated discord (hagan lio?). He has been and is currently accused of schism and heresy concerning Sacred Tradition in worship and morality. No one can seriously argue that he has not unjustly upset or put down in some way a large segment of the Body of Christ during his relatively short rein. He embraced the "schismatic?" SSPX by granting the priestly society the privilege to officially confess and marry; to ordain priests (but then not the privilege to say Mass?).

Beyond the person of the Holy Father, the so called liberal catholic clerical establishment is in full revolt against the constant teachings of the Church, laud and proud at least since Vatican 2. Probably even before just not very openly. They cause divisions by unconventional and provocative behavior at Mass, in the confessional, and lately in diverse public forums supporting non-Christian practices such as abortion, adultery, female ordination to the Catholic priesthood, same sex marriage and other subversive notions. Are they not also schismatics? Even heretics, some of them. Yet, the hierarchy, with certain exceptions, consents to these un-Catholic ideas sometimes with militant advocacy but a large number by deadly silence. Are they not causing discord, are they not schismatics?

Yes, the SSPX is schismatic because they unabashedly dissent from practices that were also condemned by the Catholic Magisterium for about 2000 years. And also because they dissent no matter who teaches such novelties, even if that teaching is from the highest forums in Rome.

Mr. M Thomas when you pray, pray that "all schismatics" (including even yourself?) not just the ones you dislike may have a moment of profound insight: God granting them the grace to reform their life and return to the authentic Magisterium of all times revealed to us by Jesus, and explained for us by the Church Fathers/Mothers, all legitimate Councils, including Vatican when explained, understood and applied consistent with Sacred Tradition.
