Crux is reporting this:
Syro-Malabar cathedral closed for Christmas amid bitter liturgical dispute
These progressive flexible and backwards looking liberals want to celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist facing the people when Pope Francis demands that they, under the pain of excommunication if they do’t, face the wall or go ad orientem.Ad orientem is what Pope Francis is demanding of these priests and if they don’t, well, off with their heads.
This is what Crux reports:
The decision to shutter the basilica was announced by its administrator and rector, Father Antony Puthavelil, who said the facility will remain closed “until it becomes possible to celebrate the synod-prescribed Mass in a peaceful manner.”
The tensions in Ernakulam-Algamany center on whether priests should celebrate the Mass facing the people throughout, as a large share of clergy and laity appear to desire, or facing the altar during the Liturgy of the Eucharist, as the church’s governing synod decreed in 2021.

As an Easterner, I suppose I should be more interested in the goings-on here, however, I'm honestly a bit passive.
They are so remote from the Byzantine Churches, so latinized that I think most in the East have generally written them off.....do what you want......fight how you want....you're the ones who decided to throw your patrimony away whereas we have fought for +50 years to successfully reclaim ours.
