IS IT JUST MY IMAGINATION, BUT HAS WEATHER REPORTING BECOME MORE SENSATIONAL AND PANIC PUSHING THAN IT USE TO BE? I ASK; YOU ANSWER!

What an outrage! You’d think that they would use “Rose” on Gaudete Sunday for major flooding instead of red! It’s like using “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah!”

You’d think that a Category 5 Hurricane is approaching the coastal area during December. I received this warning from my Facebook Feed from Hilton Head Island’s government. I live within a five minute walk to the beach.

You’d think a Tsunami is coming our way.

Do you think there is a possible, far out chance, that this has anything to do with the politicization of weather to move from fossil fuels to electricity only? Of course, frequent tsunamis could be harnessed for energy, no?

🌊 Attention, Islanders! Weather update on the horizon! 🌬️ We want to keep you informed about potential weather changes affecting our coastal area.

Here's what to expect:

👉 Today, Friday, and Saturday: Some minor coastal flooding possible in parts of Charleston and Colleton Counties. No expected flooding in GA coast and Beaufort/Jasper Counties.

👉 Sunday and Monday: Chance of minor flooding along the entire GA and SC coast, with a possibility of moderate to major flooding Sunday morning.

🌊 Marine Conditions: Winds could reach up to 35 knots in GA waters through tonight, and there might be higher seas of 10-16 ft over the weekend.

🌊 High Surf Alert: Waves of 5 ft or more hitting the GA coast today, with larger swells (5 ft or more) across GA and SC coasts from Saturday night through Sunday.

Please stay tuned for updates as we keep an eye on these conditions. Your safety is our priority! .

It might seem sensational to a local but you have a lot of people on vacation this time of year and they may not be familiar with the water and weather. People do odd things when they have no knowledge or respect for local natural phenomena.

It used to be that one could check the Mariner's forecast to get away from sensationalism since lives actually were at risk if that was wrong.
