ONE THING IS VERY CLEAR, CLIMATE CHANGE IS NOT THE NUMBER 1 EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO MANKIIND! ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MAY WIPE OUT HUMANITY IN THIS COMING DECADE! AND THE WINDS OF WAR AROUND THE WORLD IS SPARKING ALARM, ALARM I SAY,, IN EUROPE BUT THE USA IS ASLEEP AT THE WHEELS OF WAR!
PRESS TITLE FOR DISTURBING ARTICLE ON THE WINDS OF WAR IN EUROPE!!!!
Your "Duh!" expresses all the profundity and depth of understanding that we've come to expect from you. Kinda like your misunderstanding of the analogy of faith.
There's one little-bitty, teensy-weensy difference between the Ice Age and our current understanding of Climate Change.
Now, I know this will be difficult for you to wrap you small brain around, let alone understand, but if you take it slowly and think about it - carefully, since I don't want you to strain yourself - consider that, in the Ice Age, humans were not present. The Ice Age was caused by the Milankovitch Cycle. Now, don't look that up - it will hurt your brain.
Human activity is what is causing the current Climate Change.
I know this is hard for you to grasp, and you're probably better off just going back to worrying about whether the altar has the "Benedictine" arrangement of candles or not.
You see the question isn't "Is climate changing," but what is the cause.
If you want to take a shot at, gasp, understanding, here's a website for elementary students to understand the Ice AGE.
Father Kavanaugh: Thank you for posting the Ducksters.com explanation. It is quite helpful in helping people to understand the Ice Age cycles. Seen against the broad backdrop of geological time, it really is fascinating to think that we are in fact still in the latest Ice Age, albeit in an interglacial warming period. In this perspective, I suppose the climate change issue is how human activity is increasing the warming that would otherwise occur during this period, and with what consequences. Is that correct?
Father McDonald: Regarding the potential existential threat posed by AI, Thomas Friedman wrote in the New York Times a few days ago that, in many respects, it is already too late. Of course, if we are already all living in the Matrix, it is certainly too late. -:) More seriously, let’s hope that we humans can use our God given talents to successfully navigate the actual and potential perils of AI and use it wisely and benignly to help address issues such as human induced climate change.
And yes, doubtless something is afoot. But isn’t something always afoot? The Greek Myths and the Bible would suggest as much. In Christian terms, I suppose that perhaps every generation as its own version of the “Antichrist” and forces that gather around that archetypal figure.
As is so often the case, TJM cannot be trusted to report the facts accurately. He says that none of Al Gore’s predictions have come true. When I asked Google’s AI about this, it begged to differ:
In his 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth and related works, Al Gore predicted that rising greenhouse gas emissions would cause severe global temperature increases, melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and more extreme weather events.
Core Predictions That Came True
• Rising Carbon Dioxide and Temperatures: Gore correctly explained the greenhouse effect and projected that CO2 levels and global temperatures would continue to rise on a steep trajectory.
• Extreme Weather and Sea Level Rise: He accurately anticipated an increase in severe heatwaves, droughts, floods, and accelerating sea level rise . • Melting Glaciers: His warning that global warming would cause worldwide glaciers and ice fields to shrink rapidly has been validated by decades of subsequent climate data.
Criticized and Exaggerated Predictions
• Snows of Kilimanjaro: Gore stated that within a decade (by 2016), there would be "no more snows of Mount Kilimanjaro". While the mountain's glaciers have shrunk significantly, seasonal snow and ice remnants still exist.
• Arctic Summer Ice: The film suggested the Arctic could be completely ice-free in summer within five years of its release. While Arctic sea ice has declined sharply, summer ice has not completely disappeared.
• Glacier National Park: He predicted that Glacier National Park would lose all its glaciers within 15 years. Scientific updates suggest this timeline was too aggressive, with current estimates pushing full glacier loss much later into the century.
• Visual Dramatizations: Critics also pointed out that animations showing parts of Florida and Manhattan severely flooded under extreme sea-level scenarios used pessimistic, multi-century time frames presented in a compressed, alarming way.
Wars are chastisements from God. We abort our children, accept sodomy, cower to infidels and are ashamed of our Lord in the public sphere. We deserve everything that comes to us.
The government would never lie to further an agenda right? It's funny how all the solutions involve giving more money to politicians and their cronies.

Climate Change or Global Warming was a scam that made Al Gore a very rich man. None of his predictions have come true.
The scientists at NASA know better than any of us. Climate change is real.

Duh! Always has been and will be and is. The the Ice Age ring a bell? Not the 1970’s one but the one before that….

Rocco - You probably think 9/11 was an inside job, that Jimmy Hoffa, JFK, and Elvis are all still alive, and that men never walked on the moon.
All of those are just more "government lies" told to make somebody rich.
The data from scientists is what determines conclusions, not what the government wants us to believe.
