The wage restraint measures adopted by my Predecessor in the Apostolic Letter issued *Motu Proprio* "Un futuro sostenibile" [A Sustainable Future] of 23 March 2021—measures that were necessary to address the exceptional challenge of the pandemic and had already been partially modified through the repeal of Article 3 via the *Rescriptum ex Audientia* of 16 June 2025—may now be set aside, in the certainty that the institutions of the Holy See and Vatican City State will continue, through different means, their commitment to ensuring economic sustainability.
For this reason, having heard the expert opinion of the Secretariat for the Economy and having carefully examined the matter,
I establish the following:
Effective 1 September 2026, the Apostolic Letter issued *Motu Proprio* "Un futuro sostenibile" of 23 March 2021 is repealed; however, the effects produced during the period of its validity remain definitive, including the effects resulting from the suspension of the accrual of the biennial seniority increments referred to in Art. 5, which suspension remains permanently in effect.
I decree that these provisions shall have immediate, full, and lasting force, and that this *Motu Proprio* be published in *L’Osservatore Romano* and subsequently in the *Acta Apostolicae Sedis*.

This pope is NEVER going to loosen up on the TLM. Period. He's not going to do it. There is no point in even discussing it. Pray for him? Sure. Pray that he changes his mind? By all means. Get your hopes up? Don't bother. Personnel is policy and the overwhelming number of appointments from this creator of questionable bishops have a policy that is, at best, uninterested and, at worst, downright hostile. Promoting Cordileone is just a misdirection play to keep us at bay. The case is closed until we get a very different kind of pope. Hint: With the kind of cardinals left to elect future popes that Francis and Leo have left us with, those odds are worse than slim. Our only hope is divine intervention. Of course, I DO believe in miracles, or I wouldn't be Catholic. But I have a feeling the kind of intervention that's coming isn't going to be pretty.
