But...but....but....it's all traditional!!!

Yes, just like the Bugnini Mass you celebrate exclusively is also traditional, hee, hee, hee.

All Highest K, you could learn something from this man, but you won't, because you are contumaciously attached to Liturgical Failure!

Fr. ALLAN McDonald - The paucity of your seminary theological formation, which you have often bemoaned here, is showing again.

K, the paucity of your political knowledge is breathtaking. Take a look how your god, Obama, is treating the little people while lavishing huge sums on his friends. Likely the rags you read will not cover this:

It takes a serious lack of self-awareness (or is it a great deal of humility?) to not know when one has been hoisted on his on petard.

That’s our K!

No, Ol' Nick, if I thought the "it's tradition" argument held sway as a defense for such "kitschy" altar decor, I'd have been hoisted. The only traditional defense for this altar arrangement is Bad Taste.

Mickey,

Dear dear, you didn’t read Fr. AJM’s comment and you forget your own comments here. Well, age and bad habits have different effects on everyone. There’s handling it gracefully and then there’s… other approaches.

It's also bad taste to vote for Abortion as Healthcare and claim you "care!"

Ol' Nikk - Let me 'splain this to you.

Fr. ALLAN McDonald posted a picture and called it "kitschy."

I, plainly being sarcastic, "defended" the (over) use of the "decorative" elements by calling them "traditional" which, in fact they are.

Fr. McDonald's comment "UGH" is one I entirely agree with. Some of the candles are crooked and it appears that not one of the candlesticks has been polished since Noah got off the Ark. The ill-fitting cloths were obviously not made for that altar, but draped willy-nilly with sags and unfitted corners. The statues are, well, cheap - and they look it. The flowers have been tossed into vases with little or no thought to "arrangement."

Now, as TJM reminded us, there's no disputing about taste, so if this is what the people of that parish want, let 'em have at it.

So, when I defended the look as "traditional," it was in jest. Yes, I read Allan's comments and, yes, I know what I have previously posted.

You bad habits are showing.
