Liturgical Arts Journal has the story about the Carmel Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Littleton, Colorado. You can see their full story HERE.
If you look at how the Bugnini altar is placed on the steps leading up to the “true” altar, it is done as it was in my childhood parish right after Vatican II. That brought back some memories of 1966 at St. Joseph Church in Augusta, Georgia.
The Bugnini altar is gone and Mass is celebrated ad orientem. This posture emphasizes and makes clearer that the priest celebrating Mass is the “alter Christus” and “In Persona Christi Capitis” as Pope Leo describes the role of the priest at Mass in an elocution to Madrid’s priests. The heterodox are howling out loud and beating their breasts over Leo’s Ordinary Magisterial teaching, truly good news!
What Pope Leo taught about the priesthood has implications for how even the Bugnini Mass should be celebrated and we find those implications in the ad orientem new altar of the Carmelite chapel.
Here are the stunning before and afters. Thank God they removed the “second graders’” stained glass windows too!

Stunning!
A huge improvement!!!
Vive la différence!
Can we hope, from the before, the ‘free standing Altar’ will be preserved - it was so imaginative and unique…a thing of beauty is a joy for ever.
Lol!
Father McDonald said..."“In Persona Christi Capitis” as Pope Leo describes the role of the priest at Mass in an elocution to Madrid’s priests. The heterodox are howling out loud and beating their breasts over Leo’s Ordinary Magisterial teaching, truly good news!"
Pope Leo XIV reiterated simply Pope Francis' (requiescat in pace) January 30, 2025 A.D. exhortation that each priest is to become "alter Christus."
In turn, Pope Francis had repeated simply that same teaching as Pope Benedict XVI had declared.
It is unfortunate that Pope Leo XIV has been attacked for having reiterated simply a longstanding Church teaching.
Pax.

Pope Francis has used the phrase alter Christus (another Christ) differently than 19th and early 20th-century popes, particularly Pope Leo XIII. While traditional usage often emphasized the "ontological" or "sacral" difference of the priest as a set-apart mediator, Pope Francis has shifted the focus toward a "pastoral" definition, prioritizing service, proximity to the people, and humility over clerical privilege
Pope Leo XIV has the authority to restore ad orientem worship throughout the Latin Church.
Therefore, should he insist upon the restoration of ad orientem worship, I am confident that His Holiness would rally sufficient support throughout the (Latin) Church to that cause.

The SSPX has long insisted that the "crisis" in which the Church is engulfed is centered upon "modernist" Rome...the Pope.
The Society works to "convert" the Pope to the Faith.
Don Davide Pagliarani, Superior General of the Society of Saint Pius X, made it clear last week that Pope Leo XIV has, and will continue, to lead the Church down the path of ruination.
Pope Leo XIV's Pontificate is very much a continuation of Pope Francis' (requiescat in pace) horrific (supposedly) Pontificate, according to Father Pagliarani.
Father Pagliarani declared last week:
"With the legacy left to us by Pope Francis, the fundamental reasons that justified the consecrations of 1988 still exist and, in many respects, impel us with renewed urgency.
"The Second Vatican Council remains more than ever the compass guiding today’s churchmen..."
"Furthermore, the major orientations already taking shape in this new pontificate — particularly through the most recent consistory — only confirm this.
"An explicit determination to preserve the line of Pope Francis as an irreversible trajectory for the entire Church is discernible."

The SSPX has made it clear, at least via the interview in question, that they are not on board with His Holiness.
But will Pope Leo XIV employ his awesome authority to restore ad orientem worship throughout the Latin Church...restore at least some of the "traditional" liturgical elements that Father McDonald/reform-of-the-reform folks have long promoted?
Is Pope Leo XIV ready to facilitate the following from Pope Francis, who had declared:
'Whoever wishes to celebrate with devotion according to earlier forms of the liturgy can find in the reformed Roman Missal according to Vatican Council II all the elements of the Roman Rite, in particular the Roman Canon which constitutes one of its more distinctive elements."
For that matter, is Pope Leo XIV willing to ensure the following that he had offered last year to trads:
"I have already received a number of requests and letters about the ‘Latin Mass’. Well, you can say Mass in Latin right now.
"If it’s the Vatican II rite, there’s no problem,."
=======
Will Pope Leo XIV ensure that "traditional" Latin Masses, via the Holy Mass of Pope Saint Paul VI, which His Holiness has identified as the "Vatican II rite", is able to flourish throughout the Latin Church?
One thing is for certain: As the SSPX would note, Pope Leo XIV has the authority to initiate that process.
Is Pope Leo XIV up to that task?
Pax.

I believe that some of the above comments were posted in the wrong thread.
An unfortunate side effect of cut and paste commenting
