I participated in the Cathedral’s Liturgy for Good Friday at 12 noon. The Cathedral was almost filled to capacity. Afterwards, two bishops and four priests heard confessions from about 1:30 PM to almost 3 PM when the Stations of the Cross took place. One of those priests was me.
But listen to the glorious chant of the Cathedral’s choir. All of it was acapella as it should be beginning after the Gloria of Holy Saturday until the Gloria of the Great Vigil of Easter.
The first chant of Good Friday is the Responsorial Psalm and this one is hauntingly beautiful. Be sure to listen to the Reproaches during the veneration of the Holy Cross. (You may have to press the disclaimer on the video below to go to the Cathedral’s Facebook stream:
