So sad when we lost the Latin Introits which made the Sunday Mass the name of the first couple of words of the Introit.
For example, in the TLM the Second Sunday of Easter is known as “Low Sunday” or “Quasimodo” Sunday.
As for the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Low Sunday is also known a Quasimodo Sunday for this reason:
This day is known as "Quasimodo Sunday" from the first two words of the opening Antiphon (Introit) at Mass that speak especially to those baptized at Easter:
I Peter 2:2 Quasi modo geniti infantes, rationabile, sine dolo lac concupiscite ut in eo crescatis in salutem si gustastis quoniam dulcis Dominus. As newborn babes, alleluia, desire the rational milk without guile, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia. Rejoice to God our helper. Sing aloud to the God of Jacob. |
