Of course people can be blessed. What isn’t blessed is their sin. Sin and evil are often exorcized as a foundation of a blessing. Just think of the exorcism even in the revised rite of Baptism, that takes place before the actual baptism.
Just think of Catechumens who are exorcised during the Scrutinies of the Lenten Season. People are blessed not sin.
This push to bless same sex unions isn’t about that, blessing people. It is about blessing sexual acts that these unions entail that are sterile with no possibility of procreation.
If a person goes to confession and confesses masturbation, or fornication (regardless of the sexual orientation of the act) or adultery or even impure thoughts, they are absolved and blessed, not their sins.
The current controversy is about changing the Church and making LBGTQetc unions, no matter who and how many people are involved, a sacrament of the Church on an equal footing with heterosexual marriage. It is also about changing the sacramental system of the Church to include the ordination of any gender of person, even those contrived genders.
And what is the basis of all this? Love. But it is not only the love of persons, but an infatuation and love of their sin. In fact it is a love of sin that eclipses the love of God.
And the love meme as a form of the enablement of sin and making sin a virtue is a grotesque form of manipulation by these clerics and laity doing it. It is truly sickening. It is also cowardice.

In Parliament House, in Canberra, Australia, the following has recently been revealed:
A number of politicians and their staffers (assistants and aides) of both major parties have engaged in sexual activity with each other and with paid male “call boys” and male “escorts” in the Parliament House Prayer Room.
Also, photos and footage has been leaked of homosexual political staffers (assistants and aides) ejaculating on the desks and furniture of Christian and conservative members of Parliament who voted against same sex marriage.
What’s wrong with that, we can’t say a person’s sexuality is disordered or perverted, even what you describe. It is the inmates running the asylum not only in governmcbut in the Church. It is called an abuse of power and dictatorial.
Btw, a similar scandal in the US Congress about 20 years ago between congressmen and young pages, teenage boys.
In 2017, in Australia, a nationwide survey, which cost tens of millions, indicated 62% of Australians were in favour of same sex marriage (by the way, I wonder what a similar nationwide survey in the USA or the UK would indicate?) as a result the Australian federal government amended the words of the Marriage Act so as that marriage was between “2 people”. Same sex marriage became legal in Australia.
To give some idea of the nature of the celebrations after the success of the “Yes Vote” there were public art works and public murals like the following: Tony Abbott (a conservative, Catholic politician) with his hand down the pants of Cardinal George Pell.
Catholic Bishop Porteous was dragged before a tribunal for “hate speech” for briefly and publicly stating official Catholic teaching - and the good bishop deliberately AVOIDED all use of words and terms like “disordered” and “intrinsically evil” etc.
Father, if you were a priest in Australia I think it likely your words re homosexuality could easily have you before the same tribunal for “hate speech”.
And then after the success of the same sex marriage debate, more tens of millions of dollars were spent on special counselling services for LGBT people who may have been traumatised or emotionally damaged by being exposed to the views of those opposed to same sex marriage during the survey period and the nationwide debate on same sex marriage in 2017.
PS - there are 33 Catholic dioceses in Australia, I am certain there would be more monthly views of your blog in this one small diocese here than the figure quoted for all Australia in a previous post on monthly views from different nations.
I am sure you are right about the politically charged, motivated and contrived term, "hate speech" applied to Catholic belief and practice. Canada has already moved in the same direction of Australia and there is political post-Christian foment to do the same here.
When I was a child, it was Communism that did this to Russia and all the areas of the world Communism was spread by them and also by the Chinese Communist, churches burned or turned into something else, Christian leaders put into prison and the like. Why to promote a dictatorial political message. Yet this one, the one you describe, is all about sex. It is so very odd, but they are using fascist and communist tactics to get what they want.
"Liberals" have rendered the following words meaningless:
1) Racism
2) Homophobia
3) Mysogyny
4) Hate speech
Liberals no longer have the intellectual substance to debate since they were "educated" at Woke Institutions, so they simply attempt to shut down debate by screeching at you with one of these words
I hope not one of those gay political advisers who ejaculated on the furniture of conservative Australian politicians is sacked. That would be terrible homophobia!
