America Magazine, Jesuit run, prints the AP story. They are ecstatic.
I doubt that any of the 230 German theologians attend the EF Mass on a regular basis. I wonder if there is any connection.
This Schism will make the Lefebrve movement look like Sunday School of attempted schisms. Keep in mind, the laity simply need theologians who will back their ideology and bishops who will lead them and it appears Germany is ripe for bishops to go into not only the virtual schism they are fomenting but an actual one. Sounds so much like the Protestant Revolt of centuries ago, no?

Again, as someone of German descent growing up hearing German in the house, brave Tuetonic knights or not, the German people have always had a will to power that will not be denied, followed always by the inevitable tragic fall. It is their genious.
My concern is that this self inflicted schism have a clear break, unlike the external shism in China where people can’t be sure which is legitimate.
Well, Excellencies, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Perhaps our next pope can replace their sees with some CATHOLIC prelates.
