ACTS OF GOD AND ACTS OF MAN; DYING FROM A VIRUS = AN ACT OF GOD; DYING FROM MURDER = ACT OF MAN

Since 1973, over 50 million babies have been murdered in the most gruesome way. Technically, though, I should not use murder as these murders were legal. Thus, from the religious point of view, the “thou shalt not kill” point of view, I should use “killed.” But murdered they were. Let’s not split legal hairs.

Since March of 2020, over a half million people, mostly adults, mostly elderly have died from an “act of God.” They died of a virus called Covid-19. There have been, are now and will be “acts of God” which take people, be it a natural disaster, diseases, like cancer, heart disease or whatever health crisis a person can experience to include all the viruses known to mankind.

Old age also terminates many human lives and other animals as well.

And Act of God is an Act of God. God is God and God can give life and take life. He is God; we are not.

Murder or killing, pick your word, by the hand of a human is a result of Original Sin and a sign of it, a human person trying to act like God—the sin of pride and usurping God’s right that is not a human right in any way whatsoever except in extreme situations such as self-defense or defending one’s country in a just war.

About a half million people died this past year from Covid 19. In the last several years, including this past year over 600,000 (that’s more than a half million) babies have been murdered legally.

So many silly people want draconian measures to shut-down the virus by shutting down people’s lives and isolating them to prevent the spread. Laws are enacted to accomplish this. But these same silly people want no laws to stop the murderous act of abortion. They cry crocodile tears when a person of sound moral theology points out their hypocrisy and how illogical their silliness is.

Silly indeed and tragic. They will have to answer to God and God in His Divine Providence, may well isolate them in the fires of hell forever. God can do that. Or in His Divine Mercy and through His Son and His Son’s passion, death and resurrection, He can save the repentant sinner.

Do I hear an “Amen”? Repent and believe the Good News.

Another proud moment in fake catholic voting Democrat history:

Among the beneficiaries of the $1.9 trillion stimulus bill passed Saturday was Planned Parenthood, despite the best efforts of Senate Republicans and pro-life groups.

Senate Democrats beat back efforts to apply the Hyde Amendment to the legislation, meaning that the federal funding, notably $50 million allotted for grants and contracts under the Public Health Service Act, may be used to cover abortions in a break with last year’s novel coronavirus spending.

"In the last several years, including this past year over 600,000 (that’s more than a half million) babies have been murdered legally. So many silly people want draconian measures to shut-down the virus by shutting down people’s lives and isolating them to prevent the spread."

This is a false equivalency.

By the same reasoning, since 600,000 babies were aborted, it must be "silly" to take measures to get people to stop smoking. (About half a million people die annually from smoking and second-hand smoke exposure.)

Or, since 600,000 babies were aborted, it must be silly to require people to wear seat belts when driving or to car manufacturers to install air bags in cars. (Among drivers and front-seat passengers, seat belts reduce the risk of death by 45%, and cut the risk of serious injury by 50%.)

It is entirely possible to work to end abortion AND to work to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. Many people focus on the moral imperatives of both.

Yes, but the same people who claim they want to end abortion, vote for the party that guarantees more funding for abortion, like the Dems just did with the covid bill. What does abortion funding have to do with fighting covid?

Murder is an offence under Common Law (and English Common Law is the basis of US law) and is usually defined as follows:

'The unlawful killing of a rational creature which is in being and under the Queen's peace with malice aforethought'. Ergo:

1. An executed criminal is not murdered since his killing is lawful.
2. A 'rational creature' is a human being. Animals cannot be murdered.
3. 'In being' means completely extruded from the mother. Presumably this is the rationale for partial-birth abortion in the the US (not legal in England under Statute Law).
4. 'Under the Queen's peace'. Mutatis mutandis for the US.
5. 'Malice aforethought'. The perpetrator need not intend the death of the victim, but intends to do him harm.

Abortion may be morally reprehensible but it is not, and never has been, murder.

Thin ice, John Nolan, you skate on thin ice. Although you are 100% correct, you will be accused of being soft on abortion since your position takes from the pro-life crew one of their favorite "red meat" slogans.
