If only Blessed Pope Paul VI had not been so rigid and authoritarian in imposing the new Mass, but more like Pope Benedict in allowing both forms to coexist, just imagine where we would be today, perhaps a new springtime for the Church rather than the summertime of meltdown!
One extreme is made up of those who ⎯⎯ claiming the strongest allegiance to the Church and the magisterium ⎯⎯ reject and repudiate in practice the very principles of the Council and their subsequent application and reformation as well as the measured carrying out of these principles by the work of the Holy See and the conferences of bishops under our Christ-given authority. Such people diminish the Church’s authority under pretext of tradition; their obedience to that authority is merely lip-service. They draw the faithful away from the ties of obedience to the See of Peter as well as from their lawful bishops. They repudiate the authority of today in favor of that of another age…
…For our part, in the name of tradition, we beseech all our children and all Catholic communities to celebrate the rites of the restored liturgy with dignity and fervent devotion. Use of the new Ordo Missae is in no way left up to the choice of priests or people……In virtue of the supreme authority granted to us by Jesus Christ we command the same ready obedience to the other new laws, relating to liturgy, discipline, pastoral activity, made in these last years to put into effect the decrees of the Council. Any course of action seeking to stand in the way of the conciliar decrees can under no consideration be regarded as a work done for the advantage of the Church, since it in fact does the Church serious harm.

I think they mistranslated the words "destroyed liturgy!" When I recall what we lost, I become both sad and furious
Funny that Pope Paul said 'the smoke of satan has entered the Vatican' when he had so vigorously fanned the flames.
Paul VI was just naive, donchaknow? Poor man was misled by all of his hand-picked advisors.
Dan: he might have simply been bragging about his accomplishments when he said that.
The Vatican Two Popes threw open the windows and doors of the church and invited the world inside the unguarded doors and then were constrained to express shock that the Prince of the world had tagged along.
Satan did not enter the church through some crack, he was bidden front door entrance by the ultimate earthy authority.
Pope Blessed Paul VI received Batman, Adam West, the mini-skirted actress, Claudia Cardinale, and Actress, Gina Lollobrigida, and other assorted freaks and frauds inside of Saint Peter's Basilica and he was photographed smiling at them and welcoming them with open arms.
Less than one week later, Paul VI went to Fatima and refused Sister Lucy's request to meet with him privately. Instead, he pretended he had a vision and used that vision (anthropocentrism) to substitute for the Truth The Blessed Moaher told the Children at Fatima.
That event was the official death of the real Church and a shadow church established.
And then he run oft to The United Nations to tell them they were the sole hope of mankind.
One can gauge the spiritual quality of any Pope, Bishop. or Priest who has the liberty to offer the Real Mass. If he chooses instead to stick with The Lil' Licit Liturgy, he is revealing his lack of spiritual substance by that action.
The Catholic Church is in open schism and has been for a long time. There is the Catholic Church that is actualised in the Churches and Chapels that have The Real Mass and is populated by Trads who profess and live the Faith once delivered.
And then there is The Shadow Church (a shadow lacks substance)where one has The Lil' Licit Liturgy and is populated by pew dwellers who are happy to be deceived into thinking they have the Faith once delivered.
ABS was born into the Catholic Church in 1948 and that church does not exist in Rome or in the hearts of the vast majority of Prelates and Priests. The real Catholic Church is to be found wherever the Real Mass is celebrated and The Faith once delivered is loved and taught and where the future Pelayos and El Cids are being formed and who will, one day, reconquer the Catholic Church for Christ.
IF Paul VI thought the UN was answer, he was truly naive. That same UN that LOVES and promotes abortion, whose troops rape women with impunity, and condemn Israel, the only democracy in the Mideast, as a terrorist state. That statement alone should disqualify him from being canonized.
