THIS IS KIND OF INNOCUOUS

President of U.S. Bishops’ Conference Issues Statement Following Meeting with Pope Francis

September 13, 2018
VATICAN CITY—Following a private audience with Pope Francis this morning in Vatican City, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued the following statement regarding the recent moral crisis in the American Catholic Church.

"We are grateful to the Holy Father for receiving us in audience. We shared with Pope Francis our situation in the United States -- how the Body of Christ is lacerated by the evil of sexual abuse. He listened very deeply from the heart. It was a lengthy, fruitful, and good exchange.
As we departed the audience, we prayed the Angelus together for God's mercy and strength as we work to heal the wounds. We look forward to actively continuing our discernment together identifying the most effective next steps."

Unless he told Santita that the predatory homosexuals at all levels, including the Vatican, need to be booted out, I'm not impressed.

They do not take the situation seriously.

Do you think that the word "fruitful" had a double meaning? Most Americans use the word "productive."

Without repeating what TJM said.......what TJM said. Everything else is the usual clap-trap, platitudes etc., while saying cheez during the photo-op. If they had to pay for their own plane tickets over and back, instead on relying on our respective "treasures"; the meeting probably would have had a different dynamic.

Bee here:

Yesterday on the news a representative of SNAP (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) said something on the order of, you don't look to the perpetrators of a crime to come up with solutions for ending that crime....

I have to admit, she has a point.

To me, all these meetings simply seem like the PR people getting everyone on the same message...just like in corporate America. I would like to see some remorse, or even true sorrow or heartache or dismay, but that's not what the clerics are about. It's damage control mode now.

Sickening.

And then it will be business as usual, with even tighter constraints on the lowest levels of the clergy, and "omerto" expected and strictly enforced.

Sigh.

God bless.
