TWO TRANSITIONAL DEACONS FROM MY DIOCESE OF RESIDENCE, THE DIOCESE OF CHARLESTON, WILL ASSIST HIS HOLINESS, POPE LEO XIV AT THE LATIN CANONIZATION SOLEMN SUNG MASS AT THE VATICAN ON SUNDAY OCTOBER 19TH

For you information and edification, the city of Charleston is also known at the “Holy City” and this designation is accepted in the secular sphere, just like New York City is the “Big Apple” and Chicago is the “Windy City” and Savannah is the “Hostess City” and Augusta is the “Garden City”.

The Canonization Solemn Sung Latin Mass is truly to be glorious and you can see for yourself by pressing the Vatican link for its programme HERE

Deacons Sizemore and Tracy will serve Sunday's canonization Mass with Pope Leo

From the Holy City to Vatican City, two of our seminarians, Deacons Paul Sizemore and Michael Tracy, are taking a historic step! Both are currently studying at St. Vincent Seminary, but have been granted the privilege to serve at Mass with Pope Leo XIV at the canonization of seven new saints — Sunday, Oct. 19, in Rome.

Join us in celebrating this extraordinary and exciting moment for our diocese and the Universal Church!

Is it just me but we seem to be going through another period of frantic saint making, even more so than JP2’s time?

Agreed! And of modern popes is scandalous and ridiculous! I think at least 75 to 100 years should pass before any canonization.
