I guess the NCCB prepares the Ordos we use that lets us know which Mass to celebrate on any given date.
Today, October 6th, there are two “non-obligatory” saints we can choose, one or the other but not both or just ignore them altogether. But the Ordo, goes further! It recommends the way to celebrate Indigenous People’s Day is to use the Mass for the Evangelization of Peoples! It also recommends the same for Columbus Day!
Let me rant first. Why is so much left to the priest to decide the various and multiple options for the Novus Ordo Mass? Which penitential act? Which Eucharistic Prayer? Which Saint? Which Mass? If that isn’t clericalism on steroids, I don’t know what is!
BUT LET ME RANT ABOUT THE WOKE ORDO! TODAY AIN’T INDIGENOUS PEOPLES’ DAY! IT IS ALWAYS THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER, WHICH IS NEXT MONDAY, OCTOBER 13TH! AND YOU KNOW WHAT? THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER IS COLUMBUS DAY TOO AND TODAY AIN’T THE SECOND MONDAY IN OCTOBER!!! BUT BECAUSE OF OUR RECENT CANCEL CULTURE/WOKE CULTURE, CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS FELL OUT OF FAVOR, THUS WOKISM DECIDED TO SUBSTITUTE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DAY ON THE SECOND MONDAY OF OCTOBER WHICH IS NOT TODAY!
WHOEVER DECIDED THAT AS WELL AS PUT IT INTO THE WOKE ORDO SHOULD GET A PONTIFICAL AWARD FOR BEING STUPID!

This may put MT Suit on suicide alert!
Another important milestone today was the publication of Leo XIV's first motu proprio, Coniuncta Cura, on some financial aspects of the Holy See (document here in Italian). It is a short document on technical matters of the financial administration of the Vatican.
What was most important about it was the simple and plain abrogation of a whole Francis document on the same matter, the Rescript of August 23, 2022. That is it. A past relevant document by Francis may simply be abrogated by a new motu proprio. A good precedent.
"Some people use the word 'woke' as if it's supposed to be an insult.
But mostly they use it because they can't spell 'empathetic,' 'educated,' or 'enlightened.'"
Or "on the right side of history," my personal favorite.

I did not know history took sides
History is not neutral, it is written by the winner!
No, history is not neutral; it is inherently subjective and influenced by the biases, worldviews, and goals of historians and the society they live in. Historians select evidence, interpret events, and craft narratives, which inevitably means their work is shaped by their experiences and perspectives, making true neutrality impossible. Instead of being neutral, history is a tactical and ideological process that reflects a specific point of view and can be used to shape political power.
