It's a shame the morse used by Benedict XVI wasn't used by Francis.

Those of us who are Liturgical instructors are more than happy to receive this good news. Mons. Marini is so well versed in the interpretation and application of the Liturgy it would have been a sin to see him removed.
We can breath a bit more easily now and wish him well on the So. American trip. Thank God.

My first post didn't go through.

As one Liturgical instructor it is with great relief and joy to know Mons, Marini will be at his post as Papal Master of Ceremonies. There is NO ONE more capable to do this great undertaking. He is obviously very brilliant and knows this section and offering of a powerful presentation and the very focal point of the Mass. We are so thankful that he is there to give us guidance at each Papal Mass and all other Masses he presents. His gifts are many and we are so fortunate to have him share his knowledge with us.
God bless and keep him for many years. We pray for him each day as he walks with Pope Francis and presents the church at its very best.

I don't like this cope (cheap and nasty) but at least Benedict fastens it with a morse.

John Nolan,

Cheap and nasty - Kavanaugh will love it then!

I have to agree with John. Even if these vestments are made from quality materials, they do not look it. Fight it though we may, we are a liturgical, visual people. Vestments such as these that appear unembellished and flimsy don't serve to re-enchant the liturgy. Perhaps that is why Benedict XVI/Mons. Marini chose to reemploy the morse.
