IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A POPE FRANCIS BENEDICT?

Are there any papal candidates amongst the College of Cardinals that combine the best of both Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis?

By this I mean a candidate that has intellectual and academic chops like Benedict which Francis did not have.

By this I mean a candidate that has doctrinal and moral clarity in the presentation of the Deposit of Faith, like Benedict which Francis did not.

By this I mean a man of manly elegance, embracing the trappings of the papacy, along with its majestic monarchical beauty, like Benedict which Francis did not?

By this I mean a candidate who also has the common touch, speaks some street language easy to understand and loves prison ministry and smelling like filth which Francis did but Benedict did not.

Is this too much to ask? Is there a Pope Francis Benedict out there????? Time will tell.

In a word, "NO."

One can hope, it would be nice to have a rounded leader again.

Peruse Peter Kwansiewski's FB page to see the less than savory things that occurred, or were allowed to occur during the previous papacy.

Bury the dead, move on some will say. The Church needs a reckoning on many fronts before that is possible is my own opinion.

I am confident that our Majestic God, as He had done via Pope Francis, will gift us with yet another Pope who will display "the light of God."

What else do we need?

As Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI had declared via the final lines of his final book:

"At the end of my reflections, I want to thank Pope Francis for everything he does to constantly display the light of God, which, even today, has not faded.
Thank you, Holy Father!"

In line with Pope Benedict XVI, we need to render unto our soon-to-be Pope, "unconditional reverence and obedience."

Pax.

We owe no human being on earth unconditional obedience! Such nonsense MT! Only the Most Holy Trinity is owed unconditional obedience. That kind of obedience is what has caused countless children and adults to suffer abuse of all kinds at the hands of popes bishops and priests and religious!

Fr. AJM,

Thank you for calling out that one. That's an absolute doozy.
