BOMBSHELL: POPE LEO XIV WILL LIVE IN THE APOSTOLIC PALACE! AND MORE EYE CANDY…

UPDATED WITH MORE PAPAL PHOTOS
And I almost forgot. Don’t forget the secret meeting that Cardinal Robert Prevost had with Cardinal Raymond Burke at Burke’s demoted place of residence last week!

Please note how Pope Leo signs his new papal name!

AI Overview

Yes, Pope Leo XIV is expected to live in the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican. While Pope Francis chose to live in the Casa Santa Marta guesthouse, Pope Leo XIV has indicated he will reside in the traditional Papal apartments in the Apostolic Palace

Apparently, it was not inexpensive to relocate the residence and perhiperals to the St. Marta Guesthouse. Imagine if a U.S. President tried to do the same - the chaos that would result?

Good if he chooses to live in the provided quarters. Besides the hallway and chapel, the living quarters don't appear overly extravagant. I'm an office guy, that's what would interest me the most.

Santa Martha’s backside is right on a major Roman Thoroughfare, although the Vatican wall separates it from the street. I suspect Pope Francis’ bedroom window faced the street. I am sure Pope Francis enjoyed watching the world pass by him by looking out that window. But he also ate in the motel’s cafeteria with others who were there, some courting favor with the pope. I heard often, when he didn’t want to be bothered, he sat at a table by himself with his face to the wall, back to the people, kind of ad orientem.

"back to the people, kind of ad orientem"

So, he really was a traditionalist?

For fun, the then cardinal at the World Series. The White Sox won!

Father McDonald,

A great story about the Pope’s life long friendship with a priest he met when both joined the seminary at age 14!

Father McDonald, thank you for having shared the "bombshell" information in question. I am excited in regard to the great gift that God has bestowed upon us in the person of Pope Leo XIV.

=======

Here are additional big-time, major league "bombshells," that Pope Leo XIV had "dropped" this morning:

From: National Catholic Register:

-- "In his address, Pope Leo emphasized his commitment to continuing the Church’s path following the Second Vatican Council, specifically highlighting Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium as providing “masterful and concrete” direction."

-- Pope Leo concluded by quoting St. Paul VI’s hope expressed at the beginning of his pontificate in 1963, praying that the Church would “pass over the whole world like a great flame of faith and love kindled in all men and women of good will.”

-- The Pope identified several fundamental principles to guide his pontificate, “the return to the primacy of Christ in proclamation; the missionary conversion of the entire Christian community; growth in collegiality and synodality; attention to the sensus fidei, especially in its most authentic and inclusive forms, such as popular piety; loving care for the least and the rejected; courageous and trusting dialogue with the contemporary world.”

=======

From: Reuters:

-- Pope Leo tells cardinals they must continue 'precious legacy' of Pope Francis

VATICAN CITY, May 10 (Reuters) - Pope Leo XIV signaled on Saturday he would continue with the vision and reforms of Pope Francis, telling the world's Catholic cardinals the late pontiff left a "precious legacy" that must carry on.

"The pontiff also asked the clerics to "renew together our complete commitment" to the reforms enacted by the Council..."

"He cited Francis' focus on "courageous and trusting dialogue with the contemporary world in its various components and realities."

Pax.

MT Suit,

No one cares about your non sequiturs - although The National Anti-Catholic Reporter might enjoy them because they promote the Satanic! Holy, holies!

And how do you know what everyone else thinks? You mean, surely, that YOU don’t care about what MT says. I assume you read the bit about Pope Leo “praying that the Church would ‘pass over the whole world like a great flame of faith and love kindled in all men and women of good will.’” The Church includes all of us. Perhaps you should take these words to heart.

Mark J,

Unless you are living in an alternate world of reality, you must be ignoring the reaction of most folks commenting here.

I am following in the tradition of K, who routinely asserts he knows of what others here think. Just review his history and others reactions!

Cheers!
