RORATE CAELI PICKED UP ON IT AS I DID WHEN POPE LEO SAID IT…

And, something I have never seen before, a lace amice! Was it his grandmother's lace, so despised by Pope Francis?

The lace amice was last used by John Paul I. Out of all the things that could be resurrecter in this pontificate, the lace amice would have been the last thing on my mind, yet it has returned!

Leftwing clerics hardest hit! Pope Leo in a not so subtle way said papal tyranny as practiced by Francis is over! Deo Gratias!

When I was an altarboy back in the early 1960s we had both plain amices and ones with lace, same with albs and surplices. We had 4 parish priests and they wore whatever the sacristan laid out that morning. I never heard any priest comment on whether there was lace or not when vesting (of course they were busy saying their vesting prayers). Father McDonald do many priests say vesting prayers anymore?

I thought he looked nice.

Fr. Z provided a critique of the ring. I think it's perfect.

ByzRus,

Pope Leo has a calming presence. I saw a picture of his brother hugging him. Touching, not staged, not phony. Deo Gratias!

I saw!

Reminds me a bit of Pope Benedict and his brother.

He's really connected with the past, today was JPII day, o believe he visited Benedict XVI's tomb yesterday, or within the last few days. He's humble in an authentic way and pledged not to be an autocrat.

Father McDonald,

If you read nothing else this week, I highly recommend reading Father Cippolla’s letter to Bishop Barron. I suspect Pope Leo might agree with Father Cippola’s analysis:
