The Church has remarkable depth. Here, one of the oldest traditions.
Parallels between the Oriental Rites and the Byzantines are often made. We do have our differences centering mainly on the nature of Christ. Byzantine, 2 natures, human and divine. Oriental, not sure if all subscribe to the same, 1 nature, human and divine.
The debates and schisms over "the nature of Christ" seem to me to be muchly from foolish attempts to explain something in words which something defies words, as much as defining God is impossible. However, it must be remembered that some such definitions of that "nature of Christ" inevitably and logically lead to the collapse of the entire system of beliefs, and such definitions, especially known by their long term destructive fruits, must be condemned. There are very few of those remaining in either Eastern or Western assorted churches.
