Ed Condon at the Pillar writes about a dark-horse candidate for the papacy, Cardinal Mamberti. When I saw him celebrating the last Mass of mourning for Pope Francis on Sunday, I thought he looked very popish but not in the Pope Francis tradition, thanks be to God.
Condon also says that those who have been top runners seem to have their rising dismissed by setting.
Read Condon’s take on Mamberti and those who are losing favor by pressing the Pillar title below.

I've read that glimpses of these things have appeared in recent days. Of course, they matter not one iota to the sacraments. They just look nice, like the person is putting their best foot forward.
Father McDonald, an interesting article on how the City of Rome is now mission territory!

You will incur the wrath of Mark Thomas now! Expect a cascade of no sequiturs and holy, holies!
Everyone concentrates on admin skills and clothing....after all, the main function of the Church is world diplomacy, who cares about a true spiritual life or fidelity to what is taught by God through sacred scripture when all that can be bypassed by weasle-words and an assurance of secret knowledge too sublime for most of peasants. What we need is a diplomat....and somebody with style.
Pray, do penance, and let go. I'll accept whoever (or whatever) is elected. When you come down to it, Francis was the best recruiter for Traditionalists we could have possibly asked for. Long term or short term, God's will is going to be done.
