I don’t know if this is the father of the child who endangers this child and subjects him to child abuse before a packed church. It is also a sacrilege, but the father or the man may well be psychologically and spiritually compromised. What if he tripped running down the aisle with this child? What if the child had fallen from the high perch on which he is placed? It is shocking to say the least! You can see that those conducting what must have led to a procession are dumbfounded!

I don't understand this after watching it several times.
At first, I thought it was some cultural component prior to a procession.
Then, I noticed the adult kicking off his shoes, the platform nearly being turned on its side, the child seeming to be bewildered and the attendant gesturing "why?".
I suppose this was disruptive and, seemingly, a dangerous thing to to. The adult apparently should have acted like one.
You hang out in churches often enough, you get to see many odd things. This one rates among my top five for sure! Maybe it's just a piety we don't understand......
Is 'Mark' fulfilling some new decree of Pope Francis ?

Someone there said this pertains to some superstition. They didn't elaborate.
The statue is on a bier to be carried. This might have been a festal celebration with a procession to follow.
