Very gracious of Cardinal Pell. Now did PF support Cardinal Pell when he was unjustly in the slammer?
I think there are two ways Pope Francis deals with those who burn His Holiness, he says nothing and communicates nothing, think of the Dubia Cardinals and Archbishop Vigano.
Or he fires them, think of Cardinal Burke, Cardinal Mueller and now Cardinal Becciu.
With the first three, all below retirement age, no new assignment was given which is very odd and usually done to save face, but not with this pope.
And one wonders what Archbishop Gainswaign must have done??????????????????????????
At least Pope Francis acted as His Holiness had to do since this would all break anyway and it was best to come from His Holiness rather than elsewhere.
That whole mess in London has several disturbing connections. What is, perhaps most telling for me, is that Cardinal Pell made that statement. Considering his tribulations and the possible source of them, this could be a very dramatic resolution, indeed.
By the way, Cardinal Becciu is caught beteen the Italian legal system, the Mafia, and some Peronists. No green bananas for him.

Yes.
During his April 2020 A.D, Australian television interview, Cardinal Pell praised Pope Francis for the support that His Holiness had given to him (Cardinal Pell) throughout the Cardinal's trial and imprisonment.
That had been noted on Father McDonald's blog...as well as throughout the international news media.

Speaks volumes that the only way we know Pell had the pope's support was to hear Pell tell it. No record of any public statement from the pope, eh?

The above thanks and congratulations that Cardinal Pell applied to His Holiness, Pope Francis, is not surprising.
Cardinal Pell has been keen, as well, to have noted the support that he received from Pope Francis during Cardinal Pell's trial and imprisonment.
From the dawn of the Pope Francis' Pontificate to date, Cardinal Pell has defended and praised Pope Francis' holy, orthodox service to God and Holy Mother Church.
