I THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT IT HAS TO BE APPLIED EVENLY TO THOSE WHO ARE HETERODOX, BE THEY RAD TRADS OR RAD HETERODOX

The National Chismatic Report (NCR) was not invited and they are licking their wounds, but there needs to be a general approach to what is happening on-line with blogs, not mine of course, but others that are leading people into schism. The National Chismatic Reporter (NCR) has been at it for generations. Start there Bishop Barron, please.

This article is from the NCR. Press title for full article.

Bishop Barron hosts invite-only meeting to discuss 'rad trads,' online vitriol

Los Angeles Auxiliary Bishop Robert Barron hosted an invite-only meeting of Catholic media professionals last week to discuss "disturbing trends in the online Catholic world," including the rise of "radical Traditionalist" movements that are often marked by personal attacks and vitriolic commentary.

The private meeting took place July 29 via Zoom and was confirmed to NCR by Brandon Vogt, content director for Word on Fire Catholic Ministries.

Vogt said that the meeting was initiated at his suggestion and had a threefold purpose, to discuss:

  • A "culture of contempt" among Catholics online;
  • The rise of "tabloid style" news in the Catholic press, "often in service of accruing web traffic and video views";
  • The influence of the so-called "radical Traditionalist" (or "rad-trad") movements online.

"Rad trads" are often young Catholics who prefer traditional liturgy, including the Latin Mass, and subscribe to more conservative political beliefs and religious practices.

Bishop Barron is both wise and courageous.

May God bring to completion the good work he has begun in Bishop Barron.

The Church has bigger problem than the “rad trads.” Start at the Vatican and clean house with the modernists and homosexual filth

Subscribe to more “conservative political beliefs” like not murdering the unborn, gay marriage, or transgenderism? For the love of
God, what is wrong with our elders, both lay and clerical?

It is unfortunate that Bishop Barron wants to shut down dialogue. Painting the entire Traditionalist community as bad & then inviting left-wing & liberal news sources to complain about them doesn't look good for an apostle of the Church.

Trying to shut down websites that have done the most to bring to light so much corruption, sexual abuse, & unveil bad bishops & cardinals is a bad precedent.

I just read the Remnant take on Barron’s little tirade against faithful Catholic’s. I’ve decided to start calling myself woke to what has been 55 years of apostasy and heresy from the highest levels of Our Lord’s church.

Where are our shepherds? Few exist as most behave as wolves devouring the sheep in the name of their Master.

Why all the names. You are either Catholic or a heretic.

It's starts at the top and trickles down. Until they clean out the filth that still thrives behind the Vatican walls change will be difficult to nonexistent at best.

Bee here:

What I wonder is why Bishop Barron didn't open a "dialogue" with the rad trads and the owners of those web sites he has identified as problematic. Perhaps they need accompaniment...

God bless.

I guess the moral of the story is, you get to join the conversation when--and only when--you get your mind "right".

Father Z covers this subject as well.

Fr. Z concludes his report with, "The moderation queue is ON for this, to keep some of the knucklehead stuff at bay."

Yes, let's complain that someone is trying to squelch the "rad-trads" and their foolishness.

BUT, at the same time, let's squelch anyone who might disagree with the self-aggrandizing Fr. Z.

Cheers!
