The following is what a Malaysian bishop is saying about the leadership of Pope Francis--that it is of the Holy Spirit.
I might be wrong, but I thought we could only claim the Holy Spirit's guidance in actual Magisterial teachings and only say that it is of the Holy Spirit when a pope or an ecumenical council with the pope declares something to be infallible in the areas of faith and morals.
We can't say that all things that a pope or council says or does is led by the Holy Spirit. In fact this would seem to me to be the so-called "blasphemy" of the Holy Spirit.
It would would be patently blasphemous to say that Pope Francis' recent comments about Bishop Baros and how he has handled this situation since day one is the work of the Holy Spirit.
However, the evil or wrong-headed things that popes and bishops as well as priests do, the Holy Spirit can bring good to the Church. But that's another discussion.

I didn’t have to read any article because the picture of that bishop told me all I need to know about him.
Since the moment Francis became pope I haven’t been able to stop thinking about what Isaiah said “Woe to those who call evil good
L and good evil, who put darkness for lightand light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”
The photo tells me all I need to know about this "bishop."
LOL

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen – the main problem in our Church and our Republic in a nutshell.
What does it say about the post Vatican II Church, when it exhibits bishops (and even a U.S. cardinal) so crudely misinformed about Catholic theology as to parrot the old Protestant canard that everything the pope says is inspired or guided by the Holy Spirit? Was absolutely nothing about Catholicism taught in the 1970s/80s seminaries they attended?
Anonymous 2,
Well, when a bishop looks like a cast member of La Cage Aux Folles, it might just call his theological bona fides into question!
Did not Benedict say : Just because the Church is always guided by the Holy Spirit does not mean the Church is always listening to the Holy Spirit.
"And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen – the main problem in our Church and our Republic in a nutshell."
Indeed.
The pope is not an oracle...the warnings the East has pointed out to Rome in various situations is coming to fruition now.
Truly, "a picture is worth a thousand words."
Gene,
It looks like Kavanaugh (Anonymous at 3:51 pm) is back to his old tricks!
