THE HOLY FATHER GOES TO CONFESSION FIRST! I DON'T KNOW IF A PUBLIC PHOTO OF A POPE GOING TO CONFESSION EXISTS APART FROM THIS VIDEO!
The Pope going to confession first himself seems to have caught Msgr. Guido Marini off guard! I wonder if the confessor had a heart attack! Surely he didn't know this would happen!

Wouldn't it be funny if the priest asked the pope to perform the following penance: you are to wear the mozetta and papal stole publicly for the rest of your pontificate.
A sinner is a sinner. Surely the priest hearing the pope's confession was, if mildly startled, nowhere near having a coronary...
He did this in spite of the pain (this is the first time we've seen the pope kneeling since Corpus Christi).
I forgot that he's not the only one with knee problems: hope you're feeling better, Father!
What a great example he sets for us. Of course he didn't confess for us, but for himself. You must take care of yourself before you can take care of others. -DF
