I DON’T KNOW HOW YOU CAN SAY THIS IS THE SAME CHAPEL, BUT IF YOU SAY SO….

I saw this on Facebook:

This is another one of those shake your head moments. Chapel of the immaculate conception. University of Dayton, Ohio. In 2007 completed a full renovation of the interior of the chapel allowing for “the complete celebration” of the full range of liturgical actions call four by the church, through beauty, dignity, and simplicity! 🙄

Wish I could un-see this!

This is a wreckovation. The historic, beautiful handcrafted pulpit has been turned into a baptismal font. Picture before and after the 2014 project show the extent of the damage. In any event, it shows a complete misunderstanding of what the sanctuary is.

Truly, truly, ruined a masterpiece in favor of arts/crafts style furnishings that clash and only serve to make horizontal that which should be vertical. A non-Catholic might conclude that these to be two different denominations.

This is a profound failure of a "renovation", an insult to the benefactors who paid for the original decorations and an example of not understanding the sanctuary as noted by Sub-Deacon James, above.
