This is St. Brendan’s Church in central Los Angeles. What a great idea. Hide the old high altar with silly looking structures and hide the silly looking cube altar with cacti. What a great idea! NOT!
I am sure this configuration instills wonder, awe and reverence for the Holy Mass and the Blessed Sacrament. NOT!

Is this for a black mass?
Looking at other pictures of the church it is clear that there is no old high altar; what is behind the screen is just the tabernacle on a plinth. I know you agree with me that it is bad to have old and new altars competing for attention, so they get kudos for avoiding that. I agree about the cacti, though.

"Liturgical style must change because, like language and all things cultural, it is a human construct. The way we worship - colors, architecture, iconostases, dalmatics, church decor, etc., - is not ordained by God. We made it according to the styles and cultures of the time."
It, therefore, must be good.
