The Holy Father Francis, during the Angelus of this Sunday, October 6, 2024, announced a new consistory for the creation of 21 new cardinals to be held on December 8, 2024. This is the tenth consistory of his pontificate. The last one dates back to September 30, 2023 and the Pope announced it on July 9, 2023. In the previous consistories the Pontiff created 142 cardinals of which 113 voters.
