This is in the Ordo telling priests what Mass they may celebrate:
Apart from Thanksgiving Day, I don’t think the Mass should be used to celebrate any country’s civil holidays.
But for today, the Ordo for Mass, the little book that tells priests what Mass to celebrate, what is optional and what votive Masses tie into the Scriptures for Mass when there is no prescribed daily Mass, goes cancel culture and woke as it concerns Columbus Day, which is a federal holiday.
Some places have tried to cancel Christopher Columbus and substitute “indigenous People’s Day”! While it might be a good idea to have such a celebration, if it isn’t anti-Christian or anti-Relgion, today, Columbus Day, isn’t the day to do that. Indigenous People’s Day evolved from cancel culture, revisionist’s history and the woke ideological movement of the last few years.
Who put this into the Ordo is what I want to know!

If the concept you express wasn't so sad, I would laugh. All I can do is shake my head and say to myself, "Wow."
Agree. On the whole, temporal civil observances and divine worship should not be comingled. Pray for peace and unity? Seems appropriate. "God bless America"? Sure, after the final blessing. Good citizenship is virtuous, "Za Narod. Za Boha". "For God and Nation" was and is fundamental to some religious fraternals.
