This is from the blog "Eye of the Tiber" and is an attempt at fall humor.I have a sense of humor, but with nostalgia for the Church of What's happening Now" of the 1970's returning with a vengeance, when hosts were made of spice and honey and other ingredients, is this really funny or is it sacrilegious? I report; you bloviate.
When I was in the seminary of the 1970's the bread we used for the "Eucharist" had honey in it and other stuff. Many complained that the traditional hosts were more difficult to beleive that they were bread let alone Jesus. I had a hard time believing the new and improved ones were bread or Jesus.
Some seminarians called it "chewy" Jesus. Thus you see the seeds of irreverence planted firmly in seminarians of the 1960's and 70's and what has led to the decline of the Catholic Church worldwide.

Hipster Priest Consecrates Fresh Batch Of Seasonal Pumpkin Spice Eucharist
Just in time for the start of Fall, local hipster priest Fr. Kale Adams announced this morning that he has consecrated his first batch of Pumpkin Spice Eucharist.
Although the seasonal pumpkin flavor of Jesus’ body has been condemned by the Vatican, Fr. Adams has told his parishioners that they’re not sheep, but rather, “free souls that can’t be contained by the man or the Vatican.”
“Pumpkin Spice Eucharist allows me to express myself and my love for JC in ways you wouldn’t believe,” Adams told EOTT as he sat down to finish knitting a cover for his iPad. “And listen, to all those establishment bishops in Rome, I was consecrating before it was cool. And that’s why my parishioners dig me and why so many of them have returned to the Church in the first place. You gotta give them what they want. And what they want is Jesus…Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, with a flawless blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger.”
At press time, Fr. Kale Adams is trying on his brand new hemp vestments.
Inwould say it is a malapropism mainly be ause it comes from a Catholic priest. My humour is pretty edgy and I have to pause often, and fail, to not give offense. In this case he sort of gives ammunition to the people who mock veneration of a *consecrated* host. But it does accurately capture the mind set of the modern Catholic robbed of his lineage.
And possibly only a little worse than than you candle post below. 😬
Whew, all your comments capitalized AND italicized. "Dialogue" may have serious headaches with this one!!
Pope Francis wouldn't have any problem with that. Rules. Rules. Rules and doctrine. Father you are fixated on small minded, man made rules. What does it matter? That's the whole message of Francis' pontificate isn't it. If it feels good do it.
invalid matter, invalid sacrament.
Hahahaha! This is epic! It channels your disgust at your former past quite well. Although I won't lie ... Most eucharists as complex carbohydrate substance tastes bland and some brands leave a nasty aftertaste in your mouth.
Look in the mirror!
Ask yourselves why any need for any hostility to a good priest.
Ask re your own intentions and motivations to confront a man and priest who is honest re those approx two crazy decades post vat 2 who millions of others now can see that time for what it was.....
It is now 2016, history for example a century from now will show even more the vat 2 and post vat 2 era for what it was, I believe.
What is so wrong and threatening when a priest or lay person has some love and attachment or sees value in centuries long ways of prayer, worship and belief?
It's a joke. Unfortunately much of what is happening in the Church today, from the top down, is beyond humour. Otherwise 'The Pope Francis Joke Book' would fly off the shelves.
The Remnant offered the following story and, I believe, unfortunate mockery of His Holiness Pope Francis and the Holy Thursday foot-washing ritual:
I thought that as Catholics, we are called to see the face of God in each other. I thought that we are called to respect His Holiness Pope Francis, as well as our sacred Catholic practices and symbols.
I am too a great a sinner to condemn The Remnant. But that does not change the fact that they mocked the Vicar of Christ. The Remnant also mocked a Holy Thursday liturgical practice.
The Remnant criticizes non-Catholic and even "liberal" Catholics who mock the Papacy and Catholic practices. But The Remnant is free to do the same.
Moslems become outraged whenever they perceive that disrespect has been hurled at Muhammad and/or the Koran. As Catholics, we have the Vicar of Christ, God's Papacy, and sacred Catholic symbols. But The Remnant believes that such is open to mockery by Catholics.
The Remnant and those who follow them have blasted Pope Francis for his supposed disdain for Catholic practices, sacred symbols...even the Papacy. Well, The Remnant just joined the club, (if Pope Francis belongs to such a club).
It is a very bad sign to mock such things. A very bad sign.
Via their mockery in question, I believe that The Remnant has just taken a giant stride toward a public stance that will feature their dangerous resistance to Pope Francis and his awesome authority to teach, govern, and sanctify them.
I pray that The Remnant, as well as those who are in agreement with The Remnant, will grow closer to, rather than more distant from, the Vicar of Christ, Pope Francis.
"Via their mockery in question, I believe that The Remnant has just taken a giant stride toward a public stance that will feature their dangerous resistance to Pope Francis and his awesome authority to teach, govern, and sanctify them."
Is the above sentence meant as a joke or is it written as something serious? We are to look to Pope Francis to "teach, govern and sanctify"?!
Really. We are to look to the guy who approves sacraligeous communion, sacraligeous confessions, a man who says that fornication is really marriage, a man who told protestants to go and receive Catholic Communion, a man who told atheists to remain atheists, a man who refuses to genuflect before the Blessed Sacarament while crawling on the floor before Muslims and Jews, a man who refuses to wear choir dress but puts on a clown nose, a man who is silent while entire countries endorse gay "marriage" but claims unemployment and lonliness are the greatest threats of our age. And the list goes on and on and on. Francis clearly has either mental problems or is deliberately trying to destroy the Faith.
John Nolan, referring to the pope Francis book of insults? ...great book, toI bad it's satire.
Unfortunately during this pontificate, satire is much closer to truth than ever before.
Amusing to hear Sir John speaking of jokes and humour. (I don't think he'd recognize either of them if they bit him on his royal arse....)
Here is an interesting quote from Thomas Merton on the liturgical reform (it will make prProf. Hillis cites Merton’s journal, in which he writes immediately upon reading SC, ‘There is no question that great things have been done by the Bishops,’ and then notes that “(a)s novice master, Merton devoted three sessions to it in the days following its release.” And yet, only five days after the document was officially promulgated, he wrote to a friend at the Grand Chartreuse, with astonishing prescience, “Our great danger is to throw away things that are excellent, which we do not understand, and replace them with mediocre forms which seem to us to be more meaningful and which in fact are only trite. I am very much afraid that when all the dust clears we will be left with no better than we deserve, a rather silly, flashy, seemingly up-to-date series of liturgical forms that have lost the dignity and the meaning of the old ones.” Likewise, in 1966, he describes the English liturgy at Gethsemane Abbey as “very open, simple, even casual, but very moving and real,” while writing a year before that in a letter to an Anglican friend “As I tell all my Anglican friends, ‘I hope you will have the sense to maintain traditions that we are now eagerly throwing overboard.’ ”ogressives heads explode as he is a liberal icon):
gob, when you acquire a brain, you may criticize John Nolan .
When gob acquires a brain, hell will be a venue for the world ice-hockey championship.
I think gob is brilliant. Some of you don't know how to defend against his biting wit, so you resort to lame personal attacks.

Perhaps you could give Caliban a lesson in irony ...
Father the worst of this was a Mass I attended in the mid 70's the whole grain honey chunks of consecrated host/bread had turned very moldy could see it was black and green from the pews ! The poor young priest filling in for the pastor sacrificed himself by consuming it all and using the regular hosts for the very few that took communion.I don't believe the pastor ever experimented with that again!
Well, Anon at 5:30, gobillo stopped talking to me when I started calling him Richard. I guess that touched a nerve.
¿Quizás el nombre apellido de Gobillo empieza con un B?
