Glorious noble simplicity…
How the heck do you use the altar railing???
Psalm 42: "I will go unto the altar of God, To God who gives joy to my youth"
📍Our Lady of Grace Cathedral, Belem, Brazil
Now that’s noble simplicity
Wow!Every church needs a little "wow". We've already got plenty of "ho-hum".
That is inspiring. Each step and elevation elevates Christ and beckons me onward.
Father McDonald, that is very inspirational. Thank you for that beautiful, uplifting image.Pax.Mark Thomas
Carefully?
Except Rome disapproves of this!
That was an arrangement that I saw in a number of churches during a recent trip to Spain. I, too, wondered how Communion was traditionally distributed.
Maybe it's a mini Rood Screen instead of an altar railing. Or perhaps on Sunday's they put bleachers in front of it so the people can walk up!
Very lovely. It's amazing what can be accomplished architecturally when the Church and State are joined at the hip...
