IT’S NOT JUST ORTHODOX CATHOLICS, AS WELL AS UKRAINIANS, WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE AMBIGUITIES AND FALSE EQUIVALENCIES COMING FROM THE VATICAN: TO ORTHODOX CATHOLICS AND UKRAINE, YOU CAN ADD ISRAEL!

PRESS TITLE FOR FULL CRUX ARTICLE:

As Pope appeals for peace, Israel warns Vatican against false ‘parallelisms’

EXCERT:
…Israel’s embassy to the Holy See has warned the Vatican to avoid what it described as “linguistic ambiguities” and “parallelisms” that would equate the aggressors in the conflict with its victims…

…the Israeli Embassy to the Holy See warned against any effort at even-handedness that would put Hamas’s assault on the same moral level with Israel’s efforts at self-defense.

“In these circumstances, the use of linguistic ambiguities and terms that allude to a false symmetry should be deplored,” the statement said.

“The response of Israel cannot be described as anything other than the right of legitimate self-defense,” the statement said. “To suggest parallelisms where they don’t exist isn’t diplomatic pragmatism, it’s just wrong.”

Who is he to judge, he only discerns. This is the character trait that will distinguish him in history and was what concerned me from the beginning. It is hard to intentionally draw the ire of powerful people and groups. Our poor pope has no allies of his own to help him stand against these pressures. We must pray for him.

We must pray for his departure if we want a semblance of a Church left.

We should also be praying for the innocent people, on both sides, being killed, captured and injured in Gaza and Israel today.

I do not wish to tangentially digress too much, however:

I wonder what "Good Catholic" Joe Biden makes of the present very serious crisis in the Middle East and who actually is determining the American response - it sure as hell cannot be old asleep on the job Biden 🤔

In regard to Ukraine:

Father McDonald, if by "the Vatican," you mean Pope Francis, then there has not been any false equivalency. From the beginning of the war in question, Pope Francis has stood with Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy declared publicly that Pope Francis has stood with Ukraine. President Zelenskyy insisted upon that even when it was all the rage to have claimed that Pope Francis stood with Russian colonialism.

The holy bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church are satisfied that Pope Francis has stood with Ukraine.

Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to President Zelenskyy, stated that Pope Francis is "pro-Russian" and "not credible." Podolyak also claimed in preposterous fashion that Pope Francis may have been influenced by Russian investments in the Vatican bank.

Conversely, Ukrainian ambassadors to the Holy See, as well as Italy, informed His Beatitude Sviatoslav that Podolyak's comments were not the positions of the Ukrainian government.

The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church bishops insisted recently that Pope Francis is the "universal voice of truth and justice."

Pope Francis' voice, without equivocation, has been with Ukraine.

"I come not to bring peace but a sword....a man's worst enemies will come from his own family; his own household."

A loose translation of a section of Matthew.

As is - Do not fear those that can only kill your body; rather fear God who can destroy both the body and soul in hell."

Mark,

In regard to the attempt to bully the Holy See, as well as additional religious leaders, into silence:

The Israeli Embassy to the Holy See has "warned"...

Translation: The Holy See must remain silent and march in lockstep with anything that the Israeli government will say/do in regard to the war at hand.

Our holy Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church bishops reiterated recently that Pope Francis is the "universal voice of truth and justice."

Therefore, Pope Francis will apply Church teaching to Israel's actions in regard to the war in question. Holy Mother Church insists that even in self-defense, a nation's response to an attack must involve the principle of proportionality.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared a "complete siege" of the Gaza Strip. He declared that in regard to Gaza: "There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly."

If Mr. Gallant has been quoted correctly, then, in light of the True Church's teachings I question the following:

In regard to the Church's insistence on a proportional response related to self-defense, I question as to whether the Holy See is able to accept the above from Israel/Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has implemented the dehumanization process ("human animals") to justify the scorched earth policy that he has in line for Gaza.

Pope Francis, the "universal voice of truth and justice," will apply Catholic teaching to the situation in question. Therefore, regardless as to my opinions, I will listen to, as well as stand with, Pope Francis.

May the warring parties in question, opt for peace.

Pax.

The “universal voice of truth and justice?” That is so repulsive on so many levels. You are unhinged from reality. Tell that bilge in front of Faithful Catholics and see the reception you get. Germans used to say such nonsense about Der Fuhrer.

Israel’s Embassy to the Holy See has condemned the following written statement published by ‘the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem:’

https://www.lpj.org/posts/hoc-statement-on-peace-and-justice-amidst-unfolding-violence.html?s_cat=1102

The statement, signed by Cardinal Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, in line with Christian beliefs, is a beautiful call to peace and justice.

The statement's condemnation by Israel’s Embassy to the Holy See has demonstrated the Embassy's extreme rejection of Christian principles related to the pursuit of peace and justice.

Paul, TJM, RCG, etc.,

Let me repeat: Our resident buffoon is far more likely to be our resident agitator.

He knows what he is doing. He is deliberately posting his infantile observations and doing so in the most annoying manner possible to deliberately upset us.

If we were to put it in the language he likes to employ (deliberately, I might add, just to get on our nerves) his posts are "satanic". He is playing the role of a naive papolotrous bootlicker just to upset the conversation here and distract us. When we criticize and warn him that he is making a fool of himself, he probably laughs with delight. Somebody mentioned Saul Alinksy as an influence and I'm inclined to agree. This is a twisted person sitting at a keyboard, laughing his _ss off while he deliberately tries to pull our chains.

I doubt that anyone will take my suggestion, and this advice will probably be ignored, but the best thing to do is not engage him, not acknowledge him and, for your own peace of mind, not even bother reading his verbal feces. Whoever he really is, I doubt that he believes the nonsense he posts here any more than we do. I don't waste my time engaging with troublemakers and fools. He's proven those credentials here for quite some time now. As long as we reward his efforts with our attention, he will continue to do so.

Hamas' horrific, unjustifiable, satanic attack against Israel will only result in greater suffering for the people of Gaza.

The right to life, as well as peace, applies to Israelis and Palestinians. Unfortunately, neither warring party (governmental officials) in question will recognize that.

As our holy bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church declared recently, Pope Francis "is the universal voice of truth and justice." Israelis, as well as Palestinians, must turn to Pope Francis. God is keen to employ Pope Francis as His human instrument of peace.

However, far too many Israelis, as well as Palestinians, at least in regard to governmental officials, have preferred Satan's evil voice to that of Pope Francis' holy voice.

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as dear Saint Joseph, pray that the warring parties in question will listen to Pope Francis. His Holiness desires to lead the world down the path that leads to the right to life/peace.

Pax.

Dear Holy Mark,

Does a Christian Bishop or Protestant elder etc remain not just holy but spiritually whole after displaying no real remorse nor real repentance after, for example, repeated sexual relations with a teenage but underage boy or girl....hmmmm Marky 🥲🤔😅...?

I hope and pray, Mark, you never get to feel what it's like when it's one of your own - I'll admit this : a sane, mature, even Christian's first reaction is not actually that holy...😠😓🤔.... okay?

Well, they publicly have to talk nice about the boss....

The statement's condemnation by Israel’s Embassy to the Holy See has demonstrated the Embassy's extreme rejection of Christian principles related to the pursuit of peace and justice.

Why would there ever be an expectation that Israel's Embassy follow Christian principles?

However, far too many Israelis, as well as Palestinians, at least in regard to governmental officials, have preferred Satan's evil voice to that of Pope Francis' holy voice.

Why would we expect non-believers to accept direction from a Christian prelate?

The world is just not that jim dandy hunky dory Mayberrish that when the one who proliferates pachamama, gleefully accepts socialistic symbols in the form of a crucifix, condemns his own people opens his mouth, they'll see, hear, absorb and action the holiness that, evidently, is spilling forth.

Some are in holy dream land waiting for holy fairy dust to be sprinkled solving all the world's problems it would seem.

You've got to wonder....at least I do.....

Given the conflagration in Ukraine, the Middle East that could enflame other tensions, engage other groups/countries, certainly test the U.S. if it's leader chooses to lead, I would love to know if the folks at the Synod Synod are questioning purpose and necessity yet. They can't be that much in a vacuum, unless they are real Holy Holies, not to question purpose at least a little....not to beat a dead horse more to death than it already is (their stick-figure banner says all I need to know about this exercise) as opposed to orthodox back-to-basics reform.

Jerome Merwick,

Despite claims to the contrary, I have thought this for some time now.

It just doesn't seem plausible that MT, who seems to be a mix of episodes if Barney and Saturday Night Live is real.

I just have never actually met anyone who sounds this painfully naive and Ned Flanders at the same time. Part of me thinks we're being played and made to look like fools in the process.

Perhaps it is another here masquerading as one who he knows will get under our skin just to screw with us. As I don't have time for this nonsense, if that's what it is, I've been spending less time on com box.

Paul, if I'm understanding your most recent post, I'm very sorry to hear this.

TJM, I agree with your assessment of the Holy one for the reasons you mentioned.
