I celebrated the 1 PM Traditional Latin Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Savannah on Sunday. The priest with the red guitar is not me! That is the pastor of Sacred Heart, Fr. Kevin O’Keefe. He is from the parish I grew up, St. Joseph in Augusta. He, another priest, Fr. Johnny Johnson and my nephew, Johnny McDonald, Jr., made their First Holy Communion when they were in the second grade together at St. Jospeh’s. I concelebrated their First Holy Communion Mass. While my nephew did not become a priest, he is a great practicing Catholic, very active at St. Teresa Church in Augusta along with his wife Patti and daughter Bailey Jo. All by the grace of God, amazing grace!
NOT IN ORDER BUT I IMPUTED THEM IN ORDER:

I love seeing all of those young "subversives" with you. They are the future of the Church!
Looks like Fr O’Keefe was in the parish hall, so he gets a pass. That’s a good place for guitars and similar instruments. π
Glad you’re still able to conduct the TLM. Hang on, it might get better soon and you’ll have lots of student priests. π€π
The so-called "field hospital" spoken of often during this pontificate turns out to be much more like a psych ward.
There are some good priests left but most of the present heirarchy turn out to be less true Shepards than a sort of Nurse Ratchet types - ruling or attempting to rule through dishonesty, fear and manipulation.
All we can do is prayπ
Paul, too true. Fr. AJM, thank you for fostering these vocations over the years and protecting these little corners of sanity in an increasingly unusual world and Church.

In the spirit of priests playing red guitars and German Synods I noticed this morning that the German sandal maker, Birkenstock, is going public on the NYSE today. Interesting that this is happening during the Synod to end all Synods. Is it a victory lap for the German bishops who can now survive on this company’s dividends without the government tax? Coincidence? I don’t think so. π.
The end of Jeremiah;
The beginning of Lamentations -
Was my old testament readings for today.

Looks like your back to the future celebration of Holy Mass was, contrary to the fad it supposedly is, well attended. If that was among my options, I would be there as well.
As for guitar, not my favorite instrument unless its David Gilmour on the other side of it.
