RENUNCIATION! AND NINE YEARS LATER HIS EMERITUS HOLINESS IS STILL MAKING WAVES! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT!

Somehow, I sense that Divine Providence is at work with the longevity of this emeritus pope. His Holiness has been “emeritus” longer than Pope Francis has been pope! Incredible! And that is what I mean. How has the longevity of an emeritus pope approaching 95 years of age shaped the current papacy and perhaps slowed down the progressive trajectory of it? History will tell us and most of us will be in our eternal reward, heaven or hell, when that history is written:

Obviously little effect given PF’s poke in the eye with TC, a despicable document, in stark contrast to the generous and pastoral document, SP

That would have occurred much earlier in Pope Francis papacy if Benedict had died instead of resigned.

Father McDonald,

You are likely correct and became angry that he was still around. This pontificate is a nasty piece of work.

The last Catholic Pope of Unity. I say this because his actions and words, almost from the get go, have incited controversy, ambiguity, and scandal. His strong support of individuals and movements suggest theological radicalism. Frequent use of misplaced criticism lacks charity thus endangering Church unity.

Father McDonald,

If you want to have a good laugh tonight over a glass of wine or a cocktail, go over to Father Z's to read a letter from a Diocese in Canada over TC. Father Z's comments in red are pretty funny.
