Besides wanting to destroy Pope Benedict they want to destroy our spirituality. These are evil people and should be called out
"...members of this movement..."
"...Benedict’s enemies..."
I hope that Archbishop Ganswein can add some specificity.
"Members" should be a list of names and detailed evidence of the actions of these "members."
"Enenies" should be a list of names and detailed evidence of the actions of these "members."
I doubt he can publicly name names, but certainly the German synodal way has been hijacked by various lobbies that despise the papacy of Benedict (and John Paul II) and wish to overturn every aspect of those papacies. Couching outright heresy as being caused by the God of surprises seems to me to be blasphemy. But the one constantly speaking about rigidity as a psychosis and the God of surprises throws these bombs but without ever really explaining what he means. Is rigidity an inability to accept that doctrines of the Church, her worship, and everything about the Church cannot change or is it something else? I don't know, but I wonder what he means. The same about the God of surprises. Does he mean that we will bless same sex unions, have female deacons and eventually priests and bishops? Who knows, no clear explanation. It seems it is all about destabilization and revitalization under a completely new hermeneutic similar to the Anglican Communion. And what has happened there will happen with us, division and schism.
He can name any names he chooses to. At this point, he prefers a whisper campaign. You know, "Wink, wink, nod, nod" or "The boogeyman under the bed."
OR, he's doing his darndest to defend a person he cares for deeply, but choosing to do it in a very inappropriate way.
"Rigidity is an inability to change mental or behavioural sets when required. This resistance to change can be behavioural, cognitive or attitudinal. Rigidity requires two processes: set formation, where sets are learned patterns formed through repetition; and set perseveration, or continuation of the learned pattern. Rigidity may display itself as an inability to change beliefs or performance, or an inability to appreciate another person’s point of view or emotions." This applies to most bishops and priests in spades. Sticking with a form of Mass which has driven millions away but crushing the budding traditionalist movement.
Stupidity is to say that what we have known to have always been true is now false. For example, a man is able give birth or he is no longer a man but a woman, or something else/non-binary.
