I am watching Fox News as I prepare for my Sunday. They are having a segment on Sir Anthony Hopkins who is a recovering alcoholic.
At an AA meeting in 1975, a woman asked him, “Why don’t you trust in God?”
He took that woman’s question to heart and never had a craving for alcohol again.
Given the perennial turmoil, sin, scandal, evil and corruption in the Church, might I ask the same question? WHY DON’T YOU TRUST IN GOD?

Maybe people ARE trusting in God? The Catechism says in para 2834 (at least for now) "Pray as if everything depends on God, act as if everything depends on you." Maybe the laity is being called by God to turn over the tables of the money changers and chase them out of the Father's house as Jesus did 2000 years ago? After all, St Theresa of Avila also said that Jesus has no hands and feet on earth but ours.
Bee here:
I DO!
Otherwise I'd despair....
;-)
God bless.

I DO.
That trust drives the show, but does NOT permit me to turn a blind eye any longer. God needs warriors, not wimps...
Trusting God will not cure alcoholism and drug addiction, although it is important to trust God.
God isn't the problem, it's the rest of us ;)
