IS IT PAST TIME FOR POPE BENEDICT TO SPEAK UP AND IS IT LEGITMATE TO ASK IF HIS RENUNCIATION AS THE POPE WAS VALID?

Given the nuclear bomb of this Saturday Night's massacre of Francis and many high ranking cardinals by the former nuncio to the USA, Archbishop Vigano, I think my post's title is a legitimate question!

Those in the know, what say you?

Waayyy past time. But he is far too frail at this point, I’m sure; if he had only been willing to take on the cabal that we all know drove him to resignation, we would possibly be in a different place now. Lord of all, give that good man the strength and courage to speak the truth as ABp Vigano has done.

In the mid 1970s an elderly Irish priest said to me THEN he believed it could take a century or two for the Church to recover and achieve sanity and balance again and get back on course. How prophetic!! But I am certain there is no way Fr CT could possibly a disaster and crisis of this magnitude!

This was inevitable for any institution where: oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. And:Truth will out!
But now in 2018 the SCALE of it all!!!
In even local government here is what would happen; the system above would sack the mayor and most of if not all senior staff then appoint an administrator and start again.
.

Is there any historical precedent to this for the Church ?

Benedict may be frail, but he COULD still speak.

Why should anybody question the validity of Pope Benedict XVI's resignation?

Pope Benedict XVI said that "with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is."

Did Pope Benedict XVI lie in regard to his above declaration?

Mark, you're off topic. Whether or not resignation was valid.. Benedict could say something.

MT,

Maybe this is the Holy Ghost working to save the Church! Maybe the Holy Ghost is mad that PF did nothing about the gay sex orgies at the Vatican!
