This is funny and in fact very positive. I suspect these topics were researched ahead of time, that is they knew to bring these particular things up--I don't think it is completely spontaneous in other words.
I learned that Patricia Heaton has a sister who is a Dominican Sister. Both she and Stephen come from large Catholic Families, of course--pre-Vatican II large Catholic families--once the norm.
