Saint Anne's new church was consecrated in February of 2016. I became pastor there, July 1, 2016. It was about a $12 Million church building.
The new pastor since 2023 is Fr. Dawid Kwiatkowski. He has been re-enchanting the new church and the latest occured this week with a new reredos for the tabernacle. Previously he added the altar railing and gave the night sky, star-studded effect to the back wall.

Wow! Game changing addition! Absolutely stunning!
I liked it better as original with large crucifix, BUT with the addition of an altar rail. The night sky was ok, but the latest addition minus the crucifix reminds me more of an organ plopped into place. However, if the parish and priest is happy then I am happy, it no doubt is still now a place of solemn worship, and you and Father Dawyd for sure made sure it was so.
The pity is, with the ever mutating Church of today, no assurance that all will not be undone in the future, the Church has lost its major function of sure anchor in changing times, and it dragged every which way by agents of change who carefully explain nothing is REALLY changing even as they change it. They thinknwe are blind idiots, stupid sheep, and often they are right.
If we can just make the churches look, sound, and smell like they did in the 40's - and that can be the 1940's, the 1840's, the 1740's, or the 1640's, - then we'll have fixed everything.....
Finally, you are making sense! Kudos!
Nah, it wouldn't fix everything, but it surely would be a huge step in the right direction in repairing the damage you and your ilk have done to the Church over the last 60yrs.
And you're not, but that's nothing new.
