We all know what's going to happen: Behind closed doors, the Holy Father is going to come down on Cardinal Marx with an iron fist. A new apostolic nuncio will be dispatched to Germany to oversee a return to orthodoxy and a strict warning will be issued to all the German bishops. Marx himself will be given the option of publicly renouncing his support of the various heretical initiatives or retiring early.
Yeah! Right! I know, I STINK at writing fiction and there hasn't been a pope since Piux XII who would have had the necessary testosterone to nip all of this in the bud. The meeting has been publcly published for one reason: Our consumption and speculation and the grand total of changes or corrections that will ensue will be zero.
