THE LEO EFFECT: HOPEFULLY IT WILL RUB OFF ON CHARLOTTE, DETROIT AND SAN ANTONIO…THE LEO EFFECT

Although named a bishop by Pope Francis, the new bishop celebrates Holy Mass ad orientem, emboldened by Pope Leo’s recent example!

Read the Pillar interview here.

And miracles of miracles, he recently taught at my seminary in Baltimore. There are some 1970’s Sulpicians turning in their grave, God willing, ad orientem!

O.K., I'm going to come out and say it: "Ad Orientem" is rapidly becoming a visual pacifier. It's only purpose is to pacify the yokels in the pews while we continue to get lousy bishop appointments and persecute Traditional Catholics and let perverts ruin the dicasteries. So enjoy your eye candy, because that's all you're gonna get.

Kind of parroting Jerome Merwick, in the Western Church, there are a few bright lights in an otherwise underwhelming morass of episcopal mediocrity. The earth will not shift because a bishop may or may not have seen coverage of Leo celebrating ad orientem in a sanctuary that is obviously too small to accommodate otherwise. Perhaps they should all be built that way to force positive change?

Would you prefer this not happen at all?

The 3 parishes in my rural Indiana area have pastors in their mid-thirties who all celebrate the TLM. Guess what? They are our future bishops, because those are the men we are getting into the priesthood. "Liberal" or fake Catholicism is dying. We must not make "perfect" the enemy of the "good."

The new bishop also states he has often prayed from the pre-reformed breviary. Good.

If the choice is between lousy bishops and deviants running much of the Vatican (as has arguably been the case for some time and, barring an extraordinary turnaround, for some time yet) with banned ad orientem or encouraged ad orientem, I choose the latter.

It is interesting that the MC IS WEARING A COPE at an outdoor Mass. Makes me wonder if it is a TLM!

I simply think that some of us are reading WAY too much into these instances. I refuse to allow myself to be dazzled by all these externals while the acceleration of rot continues.

Thank you for your purity! On your own righteous merits, you have earned the kingdom of God! Damned be those wretches and worms who say, Lord, have mercy on me a sinner.
