We know that Pope Leo XIV has been blessed with never-failing faith...with supernatural wisdom...Jesus Christ speaks through His Holiness.
We have also Pope Benedict XVI's holy, stellar, confident example of having granted his "unconditional reverence and obedience" to his then-unknown successor, Pope Francis (requiescat in pace).
In light of all of the above, why not cheerlead for Pope Leo XIV?
At the very least, I find that, speaking spiritually, more productive and satisfying than joining the "anti Leo tirades" chorus.
If "restoring dignity and respect to the office" of the papacy is accomplished by pretending that the office-holder is a secular potentate, then we are sunk. if "formal" "majestic" and "fabulous" are the hallmarks of papal hospitality, we are on the wrong path.

I do not have the slightest doubt that Pope Leo XIV is a gift...a monumental gift to us from God! A tremendous gift from God!
Our communion with Pope Leo XIV will ensure that we hold the True Faith.
Pope Benedict XVI demonstrated the 100 percent sure and certain way to remain in communion with Pope Leo XIV. That is, to grant unto Pope Leo XIV our unconditional respect and obedience.
There were folks here, as well as elsewhere, who pleased Satan via their refusal to have granted reverence and obedience unto Pope Francis (requiescat in pace).
I pray that said folks do not in similar fashion shake their fists, if you will, at Pope Leo XIV.
Father, I have a long history of disagreement with Fr. Kavanaugh, but he DOES have a point. Instead of attacking him or attempting to define his argument, why don't you address it?
It’s like this, bricks by bricks, today the restoration of Papal majestic dignity, a sacramental sign of the Kingdom of God, and Christ the King, the Prince of Peace along with our Holy Mother, the Queen of Peace. Today papal dignity is restored, tomorrow the majestic dignity of the Mass. What’s there not to like?
Fr. ALLAN McDonald - I am neither anti-Leo nor am I Leo shaming. And it has nothing to do with partisan politics.
What I am doing is pointing out that Swiss guards, papal stoles, mozettas, Italian "noblemen" with medallions pinned to their pockets, have nothing to do with the papacy. These things are like costumes worn by actors on stage. A person may wear the costume of a Russian czar, but that doesn't make him a czar. Dressing like one of the three little maids who, all unwary, come from a ladies' seminary doesn't make one a little maid.
These things are the trappings of an earthly, monarchical court. Adopted by the papacy when it THOUGHT that being a secular, temporal power was important, these accoutrements have nothing to do with the Petrine Office.
On another note: "Pope Leo XIV has decided to declare St John Henry Newman a “doctor” of the church, bestowing one of the Catholic Church’s highest honours on the deeply influential 19th century Anglican convert who remains a unifying figure in both the Anglican and Catholic churches. The Vatican said Leo confirmed the opinion of the Vatican’s saint-making office during an audience on Thursday with its prefect, Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, and would make the decision official soon. The designation is one of the most significant decisions of Leo’s young papacy and also carries deep personal meaning: Newman was strongly influenced by St Augustine of Hippo, the inspiration of Leo’s Augustinian religious order."
Time to re-read Newman's 1845 book An Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine.
Oh, what a wicked web you weave when you try to deceive. Well, the, since you are such an Irish Jansenist or a better descriptive, a Puritan or Calvinist. Let’s get rid of all the trappings of Catholicism from albs to stoles to chasubles to copes and let’s get rid of beautiful churches for Quaker meeting places. You are funny. And yes, let’s make the theology of Kingdom that Jesus used as well as that of kings, queens, thrones, and other monarchical trappings into the DNC, meaning the Democrat National Communist regime. Yes, that will be beautiful for our country and Church!
Fr. ALLAN McDonald - If I thought you had ANY idea what you are talking about when you go off on these rants I'd respond. Your feigned intelligence is decidedly NOT funny.
The notion that Jesus' use of "king" and/or "kingdom" includes tiaras, guards with plumed helmets and halberds, papal "nobility" or anything that only underscores how weak - as you have often told us here - your academic formation in the seminary was.
As for the partisan politics, you go on supporting the unitary executive model being forced upon this nation by the corrupt occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue - well, he's an occupant there at least SOME of the time when he's not off in Scotland or elsewhere playing golf and using taxpayer money to push his personal business interests - and see where it gets this Republic.
Father K of the Tired, Failed Status Quo, instead of posting here, why not start your own blog where you and MT Suit would do most of the talking? You are obviously jealous of a real Catholic priest who is not a Democrat Operative masquerading as a Catholic priest!
TJM - How many times have to challenged me to start my own blog? And you know what the definition of insanity is - Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Now you are in the party of Pedophile Protectors and, as we all expect, Pedophile Pardoners.
O my! Do you want to go down that rabbit hole. Bill Clinton frequently visited the Rodtein Island, unlike Trump. But need you be reminded of Monica who the President displayed, to include her dress and she under the Presidential desk. Just barely no longer a minor but sexual abuse by an old man who is the President and her boss! A power differential if ever one. That’s the DNC Democrats National Communist party who likes that kind of thing and murdering babies!
K, has cocktail hour already started in Savannah? Your first response makes literally no sense at all. Being the nasty character that you are, no one would read it anyone other than fellow nasties. You are also forgetting the history of your own Party with its casts of perverts, Jerry Studds, Barney Frank, NS Horndog Clintoon who made 28 trips to Epstein Island to Trump's 0!!! You are a sad, little man indeed and the Church in Savannah will be greatly improved once you retire and stop taking money under false pretenses, pretending to be a Catholic priest!
Fr. ALLAN McDonald - Yes, I want to go down that rabbit hole. It's the Republicans from top to bottom who want that hole filled and forgotten.
Remember when the Attorney General said she had the list on Epstein's clients on her desk? I do, and so does everyone else. Then, remember when she told us there is not client list? I do, and so does everyone else.
Remember when the vote to release the files - complete and unredacted - was approaching in the House and the Speaker adjourned the House early so the vote could not take place? I do, and so does everyone else. They are terrified - and I think rightly so.
TJM - Why don't you start your own blog where you can do ALL of the talking?
O my! Nazi, king, dictator, pedophile, and on and on. Your party though , in such communistic disarray and with numskulls coming up with the talking points you spread. Very, very sad.
K you haven't face the fact you continuously vote for abortion on demand, mutilation of children, transgenderism, invasion of the US by criminal illegal aliens who harm the poor and defenseless, etc.

So much pretending....
Let the anti Leo tirades begin!
Yeah, there's no better way to restore a collapsing building than to slap on a fresh coat of paint!
Yup.
I'm far from anti-Leo, but, I'm also a bit "so what?".
Slowly but surely, beginning with restoring dignity and respect to the Office a person holds
Father McDonald said..."Let the anti Leo tirades begin!"
Father, you cheerlead for Pope Leo XIV. You have portrayed him as the greatest, most wonderfullest Pope evahhhhhh!
I state the above with the greatest respect for you.
I cheerlead as well for Pope Leo XIV. I have portrayed him as the greatest, most wonderfullest Pope evahhhhhh!
Why not?
I have every reason to believe that he is a holy man. In addition, Holy Mother Church exhorts us to love and obey Pope Leo XIV.
Sorry, I hit "publish" too early. To continue...
