Yes, I have posted photos of Pope Francis celebrating the Modern Mass ad orientem. But once His Holiness issued Traditionis Custodes, he no longer did, most notably on the Solemnity of the Baptism of the Lord traditionally celebrated in the Sistine Chapel. Pope Benedict XVI returned to celebrating Mass at its historic altar, meaning ad orientem, and Pope Francis continued to do so until he issued TC.
My recommendation to Pope Leo XIV, if he deems TC should remain in place, is to make clear to the bishops of the world, especially the more rigid one, like in Charlotte, San Antonio and Detroit, that the Novus Ordo may be celebrated by any priest of the Latin Rite in a traditional manner.
This means:
1. The language of the Mass may be Latin and Greek
2. The Liturgy of the Eucharist may be celebrated ad orientem
3. The propers must be chanted in Latin
4. Holy Communion may be offered to communicants as they kneel at the altar railing.
5. Altar railings may be restored and never banned or left unused.

I don't see a reason or need to not just celebrate ad orientem eliminating running in circles around the altar. Probably not realistic as we're seen with the Syro Malabars. Then, add back the altar rails and enjoy the fruits of properly oriented, vertical divine worship. Maybe the tradition of chant/propers would be rediscovered as well.
Father, you're really doing some backflips in the papal cheerleading dept..
Yes indeed! I am a Catholic and thus a papist!
The Novus Ordo has been a failure, scrap it for a far more successful model, the TLM
