THANK YOU POPE FRANCIS FOR FRAMING THE AMERICAN ELECTION AS A CHOICE BETWEEN THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS!

History is repeating itself from 2016 and 2024. This morning at 1:50 am Fox News declared President Trump the winner. CNN at this same time, is trying to show how Vice President Harris could win. The same thing happened at both networks in 2016. Pope Francis framed the American election as choosing the lesser of two evils. When it comes to the foundational pro-life issue, the right to life of the unborn, President Trump is clearly the lesser of two evils compared to Vice President Harris. Pope Francis, at the same time, called abortion murder and hiring a hit man to carry it out. God willing, both Republicans and Democrats will move back to a truly pro-life ethos with the right to life of the unborn foundational.

1. The pope did not frame the election as you suggest. Your reading skills, as you often exhibit, are poor and tend to be self-serving. 2. "Half the nation" would be 165 million. Only 138 million voted, so "half the nation" is more than a slight exaggeration. 21% of the nation voted Trump. Poor math skills to go with the reading problems...

You must have poked your eye on a pyramid or you have a mummy problem! I stand by what the Holy Father stated and his help in Trump winning by a landslide.

You stand by you erroneous and self-serving reading of Pope Francis and your inability to do basic math. How like Trump you are. You imagine your faults to be God-given talents and then you convince the gullible (or enlist the like-minded such as Evans above) that you are exactly what you are not.

Even CNN and MSNBC are examining their conscience, blaming Pelosi and Biden. Get with the program! Sour Egyptian food?

Father McDonald said..."God willing, both Republicans and Democrats will move back to a truly pro-life ethos with the right to life of the unborn foundational."

I would not count upon that.

The determination to murder unborn babies is rooted deeply within the -Democratic Party. Abortion racketeers have a firm grip upon said political party. The Democratic Party, via its pro-Culture of Death elites, is committed to the Satanic act of abortion.

On the Republican side...

President-elect Donald Trump this year delivered devasting gut punches to pro-lifers. He has stuck it to the pro-life movement,

As pro-lifers warned months ago, a Donald Trump presidential election victory would serve as a setback to the pro-life movement. That is, a Trump victory would demonstrate that his betrayal of pro-lifers had failed to harm Republicans politically.

Several pro-life leaders expressed outrage at having been betrayed by President-elect Trump. Nevertheless, pro-life leaders caved in to Mister Trump as they supported his bid to return to the White House.

Lila Rose serves as the perfect example of that.

Father McDonald, you offered a beautiful sentiment: "God willing, both Republicans and Democrats will move back to a truly pro-life ethos with the right to life of the unborn foundational."

Unfortunately, I have not encountered any indication of the above.

As Catholics we can never give up hope that the foundation of the Church’s far reaching pro-life embrace is the protection of the human person from the moment of conception. Divine Providence saw to it that VP Harris was resoundingly defeated in light of her woke politics and silly embrace of radical ideologies, such as “my body, my choice” and the even more bizarre ideology that abortion is health care when in fact it is the death penalty. Fortunately, Trump will not promote a national law that mimics Roe V. Wade. Each state will have their own laws. Each Catholic in every state must work tirelessly for the foundational pro-life issue there is, the right to life of the unborn. I am glad and rejoice that Kamala Harris lost because she has lost her mind on this issue and so many other cultural ideologies of the day.

I pray that President-elect Donald Trump will embrace God's will in regard to abortion. That is, may President-elect Trump strive to protect each unborn baby. Unfortunately, that is far from the situation in regard to Mister Trump.

It is a shame that in regard to abortion, Melania Trump, a Catholic, is all in. Otherwise, Melania Trump could at least attempt to convince her husband to embrace Holy Mother Church's teachings in regard to abortion — all Church teachings.

Unfortunately, Vice President-elect Vance is not in position to convert Donald Trump to Church teachings in regard to abortion. That is the result of the following: A Catholic who throws in with Donald Trump must comprise many of his, or her, Catholic beliefs. In regard to abortion, JD Vance has done so.

Nevertheless, we must pray for Donald Trump. May Mister Trump embrace Holy Mother Church's abortion-related teachings. For that matter, let us pray that he will embrace the entirety of Holy Mother Church's pro-life/Culture of Life teachings.

May Donald Trump open his heart and mind to God's enlightenment. May I do the same.

Vatican News reported that Cardinal Parolin had expressed his hope that Donald Trump would be “an element of dΓ©tente and pacification in the current conflicts that are bloodying his world.”

Asked about Trump’s promises to bring an end to several ongoing wars, Cardinal Parolin replied, “Let us hope,” while acknowledging, “I don’t think he has a magic wand.”

He emphasized that ending war takes humility, willingness, and a desire to pursue the interests of humanity as a whole, rather than focusing on particular interests.

Concerning the conflicts in Ukraine and the Holy Land, the Secretary of State (Cardinal Parolin) noted that Trump has not explained concretely how he will work to end the wars. “Let’s see what he will propose after he takes office,” Parolin said.

I pray that President-elect Donald Trump accomplishes his goals in regard to ending wars.

Deo Gratias-!!!Faithful Catholics, under the brilliant “ get out the Catholic Vote” campaign of CatholicVote were able to determine -as every Faithful Catholic should easily have been able to- the “ lesser of two evils” even though Pope Francis claimed he was not able to do so 😩!

This is what I sent out yesterday!!!

Greetings!

Yes, “ The God of Surprises” -as Fr. McDonald likes to say- showed up big time! We did our part, did all that we could, prayed, fasted, helped in all the ways we could, to bring out the Believers’ vote! He answered our prayers, to Mercifully deliver our Great Constitutional Republic from the death grip of the anti- God, pro- death Marxist Ideologues on behalf of the most vulnerable among us - pre-born babies and gender- confused children and adolescents, those vulnerable to Assisted Suicide/ Euthanasia, Religious Freedom, marriage and the family !
Let us REJOICE and be filled with GRATITUDE!!!!

But PLEASE continue to hit your knees in prayer in deep gratitude and for protection against the violent Marxists and their proxies who will not surrender- evil never surrenders! Recall their violent reaction to President Trump’s previous election and add to that how 4 years of their administration have multiplied and enabled millions more opportunities for wickedness!
The morning after Mr Trump won last time, I issued a similar dire warning because I know how ideologies work- long history of evidence- and we also have the evidence of the Garden of Eden! Evil never takes a holiday!!!
Pray that God will surround us with His protection from what the party of death administration will do in the final months of Transition before they leave the White House and Congress! They still have a long time to do more evil! Recall what President Obama and his cabal implemented before they left- and continued to do thereafter - “ Deep State” ( remember poor General Flynn) and the ongoing persecution of President Trump and people connected to him!

But this is an incredibly GREAT DAY, because once again God showed up and demonstrated His ever present attribute of POWER in such a public way, that it cannot be denied!
The Party of death, “pulled out all the stops” but when Believers and Conservatives show up at the polls, Republicans win!!!
All Glory to God in the HIGHEST- all THANKS
be to HIM!!!

In regard to the Butler Pennsylvania assassination attempt: President-elect Donald Trump has insisted God saved his (Donald Trump's) life that day.

I pray that President-elect Trump saves the lives of many unborn babies who face death via abortions. That is most definitely the case as the result of the abortion pill, which Mister Trump supports. The majority of abortions in America are chemical abortions performed via the abortion pill.

As his life was saved, may Donald Trump, in turn, save the lives of unborn babies from the Satanic practice of abortion.

Sophia’s comment has prompted me to share the text of a letter I submitted to the Washington Post following their non-endorsement of either presidential ticket. Unsurprisingly, they chose not to publish it. -:) Even though Sophia and I voted differently, I hope that we can both subscribe to the other sentiments expressed in the letter:

The Lesser of Two Evils

The Washington Post and the LA Times have controversially declined to endorse either Trump-Vance or Harris-Walz for the 2024 presidential election. Many have questioned that decision. My concern is related but different. Assuming a voter is unhappy with both tickets, which one is the lesser of two evils? I am an independent swing voter who is unhappy with both tickets. But last week I cast my vote for Harris-Walz.

I did so because I believe Harris-Walz offer a better chance of addressing our central political problem than Trump-Vance. Every thoughtful person knows that our politics is broken and seriously corrupted. The Republic is experiencing a crisis of well-being, distress, and dysfunction, and has been for some years now. Primary symptoms are the power wielded by various kinds of exclusionary elites, who have lost touch with the sovereign people, and the dreadful degradation of political conversation.

Political conversation among both politicians and ordinary citizens is conducted in trivial and superficial terms. Insulting name calling and labeling tends toward mutual demonization and is more suited to the school playground than mature discourse among adults engaged in republican self-governance. We suffer from hyper-partisanship, political gridlock, deepening economic, cultural, and racial divisions, an identity politics of fear, suspicion, and outrage, social media tribalism, and poisonous incivility and dishonesty.

Political, social, and technological forces have divided us into social and political tribes—frequently, it seems, even invading and poisoning relationships among family members and erstwhile friends. We must “take our country back” from these forces. We must overcome our mutual alienation and find our way back to one another, re-enabling meaningful political conversation to occur, so that we can agree on how best to care for one another.

There are hopeful signs that we can achieve this goal, such as the grass roots Braver Angels initiative, as one example among many. See https://braverangels.org/. But to succeed and improve political conversation in our pluralistic and diverse Republic, we must first preserve the Republic, despite its flaws. And we will need the virtues necessary for improved conversation—honesty, civil courage, empathy, compassion, respect, and a willingness to truly listen to each other’s stories and understand each other’s fears, pain. hopes, joy, and dreams.

It is indeed time to turn the page. Only the Harris-Walz ticket, however imperfect, promises to do so.

I believe that many, if not most, Trump voters would agree with the sentiments expressed in your letter except would emphatically disagree your conclusion that only the Harris-Waltz ticket had the potential to deliver (in an imperfect fashion as you state).

Additionally, your “lesser of two evils” letter curiously fails to mention abortion, which is the preeminent evil infecting our politics.

Finally, I like what I see in my initial look at the Braver Angel’s Way website, especially “We seek to disagree accurately, avoiding exaggeration and stereotypes”.

Mark said...

Dave,

Thank you for your response. To you point about my letter “curiously” omitting mention of abortion, I thought it would have been more curious to have mentioned it. The letter mentions no specific issues but was intended to include all and any of the issues that divide us and to improve political conversation about them. Moreover, the letter was intended to speak to everyone not just Catholics or others who believe that abortion is the preeminent issue.

This said, perhaps the letter would have been stronger had I mentioned some specific issues as examples. Thus, I could have given the two examples of abortion and immigration as Pope Francis did and could even have referred to his comments. The text of the latter was largely based on the text of my book, in which I do indeed give such examples in the final chapter.

Greetings, Mark (J)! It still amazes me that despite the keen intellect and the gift of Faith with which you have been blessed, your intellect continues to be so darkened and your conscience so deformed that you once again voted for the Democrat Party as your "lesser of two evils"! My "lesser of two evils" will prevent your choice from imposing the destruction of a tremendous amount of good on our Beloved Nation! The issues, the policies of both the Republican Trump/Vance Team and the Democrat Party Harris/Waltz Team were (and still are) at the heart of any discussion, however civil or not civil those discussions may be. But I am not at all surprised that you refused to touch those-after all obfuscation is essential in a "slam dunk " situation like this given the actual issues! The Harris/Waltz Team planned to impose Extreme Abortion on all 50 States! In fact that was their core promise and would help to "get out" their base-especially female voters! Apparently Blue States weren't killing enough pre-born babies to satisfy them, they wanted that level of murder (another of Pope Francis' 8 strongest statements on abortion) to be imposed on every State! Their stance on abortion, and the treatment of gender-confused children with harmful drugs and permanently mutilating surgeries ought to have been more than enough to stop any faithful Christian from voting for the Harris/Waltz team but there was a whole list of other reasons not to-if the strengthening of our Country rather than it's weakening was their goal! I will forever be indebted to that soft-spoken, Faithful, orthodox, Shepherd, Cardinal Leo Burke for so accurately, for obvious reasons, predicting as far back as 2008 that the Democrat Party "risks transforming themselves into a 'Party of Death' " Well, they completed that transformation well over 10 years ago!
But I am all for your posting your letter on social media as an "Open Letter" to the Democrat Party and its supporters, since they have been guilty of the most egregious, inflammatory, demonizing and most importantly, false comments about Mr. Trump and his supporters! For example, they insist on calling Mr. Trump names like Hitler and Fascist, although there is not even a scintilla of evidence in the 4 years of his previous governance, that he has acted in ways which would have earned him either of those titles! On the other hand, there is more than ample evidence during the Democrats' nearly 4 years of current governance, that they have behaved in ways which qualify them for the designation, Totalitarian! The most obvious, although not the only one of which is the weaponization of the DOJ and other government agencies to go after their political enemies -not just Mr. Trump who obviously got the brunt of it, but also people who were associated with him, as well as peaceful, prayerful protesters at abortion clinics and others. Their FBI also placed faithfully practicing Catholics ( and undoubtedly other Faithfully practicing Christians like the Evangelicals) on a "Watch list ", and infitrated their organizations with spies from without or by recruiting from within!
Besides, Mr. Trump is already leading the way! I suggest that you listen to his full Victory Speech-it will surely brighten your day!!! Then, listen to VP Harris' Concession Speech and I am sure you will agree with my suggestion!

When I read your letter Mark, this quote of Archbishop Chaput immediately came to mind: "Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant, then it seeks to silence good" (University of Toronto, 2009)!

Pax and have a truly Blessed week- I mean this sincerely! We all need this!
