I THINK THAT EVEN MARTIN LUTHER WOULD BE SHOCKED AND APPALLED BY THIS RENOVATION!

St. Hedwig Cathedral, Berlin, Germany, before the wreckovation:

This is Saint Hedwig’s Cathedral in Berlin, Germany, newly remodeled by way of wreckovation:

How shall we describe it? Post Catholic? Neo-Protestant? Purely Puritanical? Presbyterian? Baptist? Iconoclastic? Sterile? An abomination?

What adjectives would you use?

Please note, not a statue in sight except for the corpus on the Processional Crucifix.

This is from the Facebook page where I found thee photos:

With a solemn service, the Saint Hedwig Cathedral in Berlin was reopened on today's Christ the King Festival after six years of extensive reconstruction and renovation work! ⛪️✨

Many thanks to Erzbistum Berlin for the impressive pictures and a moving opening! 🙏

PLEASE NOTE THE POST CATHOLIC CHALICES OR ARE THEY CYLINDERS? IS ALL OF THIS A PERVERSE JOKE AND SACRILEGE AND THE HERSY OF ICONOCLASM?

Cardinal Woelki participating in this abomination? He of all people must be cringing.

I might be mistaken, but I don’t see a cathreda or throne for the bishop which ties in to Germany’s deconstruction of the hierarchical Church. This really is a conversion of unwitting Catholics to post Catholicism by stealth! A deep place in hell for these German leaders.

It's a fitting display--desolate and empty. That is, after all, how all German Catholic churches will be all too soon, based on the yearly statistics of Catholic disaffiliation.

It's all so yesterday.

Are we sure this is not the handiwork of RAF Bomber Command?

Laura,

A different interior in between the original and the current was not great but at least less... bland. That may have been thanks to the war effort. But this current interior was carefully crafted beginning in 2018.

I’d describe it as simpleton which describes the crew in Rome.

Words fail me on this presentation and it's not worth my time to try and find any.

It's a secular auditorium.
