Is the Responsorial psalm really or actually new and improved over the Gradual?

The gradual is succinct and to the point for meditation, which is probably why it became preferred over the unwieldy and loud responsorial psalm whose use did not last long in the history of the liturgy anyway. But with active participation above all else....
The whole Novus Ordo contradicts the notion of "noble simplicity." 3 options for the introductory Rite, 4 Eucharistic Prayers (others for Children's "Masses"), multiple dismissal options, and a 3 year lectionary. Noble simplicity, right.
For the unenlightened like myself, please distinguish "useless" repetition from "useful" repetition....
Maybe Fr. Martin LGBTSJ will insist this be added to the Liturgy so it is more "inclusive" for gays:
