HISTORIC FIRST: POPE FRANCIS SPEAKS "EX CATHEDRA" OR INFALLIBLY AS HE CANONIZES OVER 800 MARTYRS ON THE 7TH SUNDAY OF EASTER AT THE VATICAN AND THE SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION IN THE DIOCESE OF SAVANNAH

Apart from the infallible decree of the Holy Father, Francis, his first, it is nice seeing a couple of the deacons wearing the fancy lace albs! Perhaps Pope Francis is relenting on his puritan antipathy towards lace and fancy, beautiful vestments? Also please note the Gospel is proclaimed by the Latin Rite Deacon in Latin and then again by the Eastern Rite Deacon in Greek. The Latin Rite Gospel reading was omitted by some strange quirk during the Holy Father's Inauguration Mass. Thank God the "reform of the reform" of that unfortunate reform as been rectified. And of course, it goes without saying that the deacons of the Mass receive Holy Communion from the Holy Father kneeling by way of intinction and on the tongue! Please note the continuation of the Benedictine Altar arrangement!
